I think the kids were intrigued by this book because of the presence of a dragon in a very down-to-earth town where people did laundry and hung it on lines to dry (how many people have clotheslines now-a-days?).

There is also a plumber who worries about the town's old boiler. Plumbers and boilers. Both are topics that generated questions.

Lots going on in this little story. I probably would have given this 3-stars if the kids hadn't been so captivated.

I really enjoyed this story! Its about children from a town helping warm a dragon so that he can blow fire again! There is a hidden lesson in this book that is about not judging a book by its cover! The town was very scared of the dragon until they realized that he was no harm and I think this should go for people as well! There were many illustrations throughout the book that helped add to the story line. Great book for story time!
