I love Turtle Bay. We were so excited to move back to CA just to eat there. (and Baan Thai) And we've eaten there many, many times. My favorite is the Fisherman's Pasta Bowl with pasta, black beans, scallops, shrimp, crab, tomatoes, onions and a delicious melty cheese sauce. Heaven.

So I saw this cookbook at the library sale and thought 'heck ya!' and bought it for 50 cents.

It doesn't have the recipe for Fisherman's Pasta Bowl. But it does have the recipes for many fantastic salsas which I'd like to eat by the bowlful, with a spoon if necessary.

This book has a lot of information on how to cook, how to use various Caribbean type foods and fruits and tidbits about animals like sloths. The majority of the recipes are either fish or chicken. They are well explained but can sometimes be complicated or time-consuming. While we love the food from the restaurant, the cookbook didn't have any of the recipes of foods we've tried and were fairly kid unfriendly. Also, we're not eating as much meat so I couldn't use most of the recipes.

If you do eat a lot of chicken and/or fish and are looking for some fun, tasty recipes I think you'd like the book. If you have time. And some extra money. Mangoes aren't cheap these days.

I'm very excited to make my own salsas, but didn't find much else for my family.
