Helme Heine was a best-selling German writer, children's book author, illustrator and designer. He lived in New Zealand, writing screenplays, audiobook scripts and creating satirical drawings and sculptures.
The Pig’s Wedding is a fun and comical story about two pigs named Porker and Curlytail who decide that they want to get married and have a wedding. To prepare for the wedding the pigs invite all the pigs in the land so that everyone may attend. They newlyweds soon realize all of the complications that come with having a wedding and how they must help the other pigs prepare for the wedding by bathing them and giving them clothes. Overall this was a fun read but the plot of the story wasn’t incredibly interesting and didn’t make me want to keep reading to figure out what would happen. Great read for younger readers!
Porker and Curlytail invite all of their pig friends to their wedding celebration. Although they have some setbacks (their guests came straight from the mud pit and don't have any formal clothes, and there is a huge rainstorm), it is a wonderful occasion.
Adoro Helme Heine e al mio matrimonio ho preparato una valigia con tutti albi illustrati a tema nozze. Le uniche due mini-invitate ne sono andate matte.
Porker and Curlytail had the most amazing wedding ever. They invited all their guests by smoke signal, and when the guests arrived things just got more interesting as the day progressed. Good times, good food, and good dancing were enjoyed by all. Not even an unexpected rainstorm could stop the festivities.
I would give this book one and a half stars. The story of the two pigs and their wedding is memorable, with some humorous happenings thrown in to the mix. It will likely hold appeal to kids for longer than most picture books of its size and type.
A kind of odd story about a pig inviting all his friends to his wedding and then painting clothes on them. I don't know why, but I just didn't like the story or the illustrations. They just seemed a bit grotesque to me.
