Provides an informative look at the medical, emotional, and legal ramifications of diethylstilbestrol, a drug originally prescribed by physicians to prevent miscarriage that causes cancer and other reproductive ailments
Read in 1997; my review from then: A book about DES by a journalist. He goes into great detail about the history of the issue, from the initial synthesis to government approval and on into the effects on individuals, use on animals, lawsuits, and implications. Many sources, though the way he quotes from sources makes the reading a bit choppy. Lots of good information; I wish there was an up-to-date book with the most recent information on each of his topics.
