Rate this book
This text offers clear translations of and extensive commentaries on 37 key passages of the Islamic scripture, making the Qur'an accessible to students and general readers who lack the linguistic background to read it in the original Arabic form. Providing a well-rounded and faithful introduction to the Qur'an, this book can be used in courses on Islam, the Qur'an, or Sacred Texts-either as a supplement or as a substitute for reading from the Qur'an itself.

I must say that this book is a great exposition of the ethical teachings of the Quran; it is concise, engaging and profound. Some of the linguistic insights offered by the author are commendable and I have not read anything similar in English. Abdel Haleem's "Themes of the Quran" is a comparable text but does not come close to what Mir has offered. The author's command over both Arabic and English is what makes this book unique!

I would recommend everybody to read this!

Alhamdulillah. Enlightening experience. The profoundness of the word of Allah is so deep, you need to give time and effort to understand it. In Sha Allah you will not be dissatisfied. My first of many books in my quest to better understand the words of Allah.
