Tess Harding started writing fiction at the age of 9, but had to wait until she was 24 before being published professionally. That was a long time ago, and somewhere along the way real life demanded her attention and she drifted away from writing until recently.
Tess writes erotic fiction which, she sincerely believes, is different. Many works under that banner consist of graphic and extreme sex. Tess believes that true eroticism only comes from character and storyline. Therefore, her fiction may take a while to get going, but it will get you there in the end and, it can be argued, will result in greater satisfaction.
Tess Harding lives with her partner close to Hereford, near the border between England and Wales, where myth is still strong and civilization a thin veneer. Raised on the East Coast of America, she spends most of her time at her home looking out over green fields and a river. She also travels when she can, particularly loving France and Italy, as well as making forays back to the land of her birth to visit friends and relatives.

Set in summer camp in the late 80's. Filled with sexual tension, intense buildup and really erotic characters! An intriguing plot that had some sweet moments, some frustrating moments, and even some dark moments. There's a little something for everyone...in every way possible. ;) I will ABSOLUTELY read the next book as I am eager to see what happens to everyone as they brave adulthood!

I'm not sure how to rate this one because the ending was a bit of a WTF? for me. Maybe my copy was missing some pages because I can't believe that's how it ended.

There were some hot scenes, but I thought the summer camp setting was a bit off the wall. I spent over 10 years at summer camps (more than one) and I don't recall there ever being that much counselor on counselor action so rampant. Sure, people could sneak off into the woods here and there if they really wanted to with the limited amount of free time they had (and I do mean limited...maybe an hour or two at most, and never in the middle of the night), but everyone getting it on all the time and in multiple scenarios, sometimes right in the middle of camp inside of the cabins? Hah. This definitely was a fantasy...a fun fantasy to read, but definitely a fantasy nonetheless. If this camp was real, I'd be terrified that my kids would walk in on something and I'd never send them there!

3 stars for it being a pleasant enough read.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads, and even if I didn't I would have gotten it. Its a very enjoyable story, the characters are well done. To me it wasn't reading it was experiencing it with them.

It took me a long time to review this book, I had to take a step back and really analyze how I felt about it. At first glance the plot seems simple enough, a young woman coming of age feeling the stirrings of lust for another female. That’s what the plot appears to be any way and as you first get into the book all appearances having you believe this too. The characters act like teens and the sexual tension between the characters is angst filled and high octane.
Then you get deeper into the story and it’s like opening a journal to find deep dark secrets. The plot began to take on a sinister, creepy feel.

There wasn’t really a single character that I liked but I totally got them and I fell into who they were and their impact was large and impressionable. The pace was really interestingly done in that the author eases you into the gruesome and then picks up the pace.

What I didn’t like is how a lot of details were clumped together. A lot of it was given at once when it would have been better to stretch it out. Best example is that we know how Cheryl looks in the first to paragraphs, the author did this with other details through out the book. Also while I understand there is going to be a sequel the ending kind of left me scratching my head a bit.

Dani Walker goes to summer camp before college and experiences a complete sexual awakening. Through her new-found sexuality she gains confidence and experiences her summer free of previous inhibitions.
Dani meets and becomes enamored with a girl named Cherri...now Cherri is THAT girl...and either you've been her or have experienced a Cherri in your lifetime

She could do what she liked, play around with who she liked, and I'd still be waiting. I hated myself for my weakness, but I couldn't control myself where Cherri was concerned.

THAT girl...who you end up doing things with or for you wouldn't normally...THAT girl who you follow and adore without any logical explanation...THAT girl where you know there is no HEA but that doesn't stop you....

Fate. Sometimes it's a bitch.

Now this wasn't a soft, fluffy, summer romance...this book has a level of darkness, grit, and explicitness. Worth the read- recommended for those who like Dani, are looking to awaken their sexuality.

To be honest had I known what was in this book, I wouldn’t have read it. I just didn’t anticipate how dark this was going to be. I looked at it and thought, it’s written for young adults just how bad can it be. It can be pretty bad. With that said after taking some time to really thinking things through, I came to some conclusions. This book has high impact, it really makes you think and well that’s a mark of a pretty good book.

I can't believe that cover is in YA, totally not appropriate! I don’t recommend this in any way for a young adult. It has too much adult content. I personally have friends that like some darkness and I’ll be recommending this book to them.

Overall a good read about two women discovering their sexual identities and desires (at camp with a lot of other horny counselors). The first third of the book is a huge tease with character development. I almost put down the book because of the lack of sex, but I'm glad I didn't. The rest of the book had plenty of entertainment (MF, FF, MFFM, FFF, and a brief MMFF scene that wasn't distracting to a straight guy). The end felt rushed and a little empty, but it is a series so I guess everyone won't live happily ever after...

I didn't really like the end, and there where some other flaws throughout it that I didn't like but overall a pretty good book. I bought it a long time ago, and when I came across the title I thought it was YA, it definitly is not! It was kind of a slow burner between the two main characters (which I very much enjoyed) but it had plenty of action to keep it interesting and adult only. Overall it was more of a romance than erotica. Personalized I think it was perfectly balanced between the two. I will most likely read the sequel.

So far this book is quite good. It is a young adult book though. Be careful parents if you want your kids to read this. It is mostly about sex so do be careful. But the story line is very interesting and I am not even half way through and I love it. I would definitely recommend this book and author.

This was 🔥! I truly wasn't expecting this much eroticism but this book dished enough for such age genre.
The recurring drama between Dani and Greg was sort of annoying as well as the ending but I'd let that pass... Especially now I know it is a series. Look forward to reading it.
