Jessica Grey watched ruggedly handsome Tarik crossing the moonlit floor of the seraglio. This was her captor...the rebel leader who kidnapped her from a world of four o'clock teas and lavish embassy balls and gave her away to the Sultan's harem where women were taught the art of making love...
Now Jessica realized the young Turk had kept her heart for his own. Her shawl slipped from her creamy white shoulders. Her arms stretched out for him. His lips closed over hers, his strong hands geverishly exploring the smooth silk of her flesh. To be found together in the Sultan's palace would mean death. But as they sank onto the bed's velvet cushions, no risk could curb their hunger. It was time for Jessica to learn the deepest secrets of passion...to discover the love that could truly make her desire's slave...

I loved this book. I'm very into any harem related stories and this was really captivating. Nothing "revolutionary" in it (pun intended), just a good, old fashioned, exotic adventure story with plenty of familiar cliches. I also found the writing style very refreshing and comforting in its good-old-fashionedness. I had seen the mini series and had no idea it came from the book, if you liked the miniseries, you'll also like the book.
Dated, cliched bodice-ripping nonsense set in a world with only a passing nod to realism.
If you remember the mini-series back in the day, it’s virtually scene for scene, word for word. It’s even divided into two parts at the exact same moment, with Art Malik smoldering at Jessica as she is carried aloft to her fate at the hands of Omar Sharif.
One of the best books I've ever read about being captured in the desert and sold into the Harem. Definitely one of my favorite romances novels. I love this book so much and the mini series was spectacular.
Aventura maravillosa y realmente envolvente y como mucho embrujo y aventura. Sabe ofrecer mucho romanticismo y mucha aventura. Recomendable para conocer una época no muy lejana y el mundo de los harenes.
This book is based on the screenplay (I believe it was a made-for-TV movie back in the late '80s). I have seen the movie starring Nancy Travis, Art Malik, and Omar Sharif, Cheri Lunghi, and Julian Sands and enjoyed it enough to purchase the book. Both the book and the movie are entertaining and more fantasy than reality of that world.
If you enjoyed this book/movie, you would probably also enjoy Captive Bride by Johanna Lindsey and As You Desire by Connie Brockway as they also have stories set in Egypt/Arabia.
