The reclusive Charlie and his lieutenant, Bosley, call in three beautiful young detectives to solve the kidnapping of Eric Knox, an eccentric young computer wizard, whose software discoveries may have fallen into the wrong hands.
i don’t think this story really works as a book but it’s still a good time. it lacks the atmosphere the movie had, which is hard to convey via text. i feel like i’m being told the story and not shown and from what the movie presented, there’s a lot to show. it’s very rigid in following the plot.
some novelizations do a good job at recreating the movie via book format, to the point that i feel like i wouldn’t even need to watch the movie. sometimes they even add little details. this isn’t one of those novelizations. i’ve seen the movie so many times that i got some enjoyment out of this but if i never had seen it or only seen it a couple of times id like this book even less. it feels so sterile compared to the movie.
