Despite its unfortunate (and provocative) title, this book was more than just the sex-fest you'd think it would be. I'm not one for the whole older woman/younger man theme, but the heroine in this book (soon to be 40-year-old Jade) was not so old and the hero (30-year-old Zach) was not so young that it didn't squick me out much, and I enjoyed it. Let's say that the voluptuous Jade was a very youthful 40 and Zach was a very mature, experienced 30.:)
The book had an unusual premise--Zach was part owner (along with his younger brother and sister) of a male escort business. The business was very successful because not only was Zach a handsome and attentive escort, but also because he had quite the reputation as a stud (hence the title). Of course Zach didn't sleep with every woman he escorted, but he wasn't exactly known for turning an invite down. But after 10 years of doing this and building up a very successful business, Zach starts to wonder if there's something more...
Enter Jade Talmage. Thirty-nine, voluptuous with auburn hair, green eyes, great legs, and recently divorced (her husband dumped her for another woman), with a 21 year old daughter who is more 'friend' than daughter. Jade needs an escort to some fancy-schmancy event for the hospital where she works, and her usual escort, her brother, is out of town. Jade's daughter Breanna sets her up with the escort service, specifically asking for Zach because she heard from a friend what a fantastic lover he is, and she thinks her mom should experience Zach too. Eww. Jade says there's no way she's sleeping with a man who's paid to pleasure women (no matter how bad she needs it!)--after all, she has some scruples/morals...whatever. Zach will only be her escort. Period. Uh-huh...
As you can imagine, the 'date' goes above and beyond Jade's expectations. Not only is Zach drop-dead-gorgeous, with longish brown hair, blue eyes, and a body that won't quit, but he's funny, charming, and makes her feel alive, and darn good about herself. But he's younger...a lot younger. So what, nothing's going to come of this anyway. Maybe she should indulge herself...

Well (*sigh*). Zach was just the sweetest guy. He was 'all that' and more. No wonder Jade was so tempted. It goes without saying that these two were smokin' hot together. And Jade was every bit as adventurous in the bedroom as Zach was. But...I can't help wondering if Zach's past would ever come back to haunt them. The story ended with a HFN, but I'd sure like to read a follow-up about these two. Maybe there will be something about them in either sister Michelle's book (Michelle's Men), or younger brother Brent's book (Almost Perfection)...
If you're looking for a quick, easy-to-read, sexy/sweet story with a couple of likable characters, and you have a few hours to spare, and you can stand the heat, this book is for you. I doubt that you'll put it down until you finish it. 4 stars

First of all, the whole mother/daughter relationship NEEDS to be mentally switched out for a lady/best friend relationship if you're going to read this one. It just... trust me. SO uncomfortable to read. I mean, I'm all for openness between mothers and their daughters, and I'm all for mothers teaching their daughters that sex and sexuality and their bodies and all of that are nothing to be ashamed of, and I know we're talking about an ADULT daughter and a youngish mother, but the second my daughter starts buying me escorts and talking to me about cocks, I'm putting on my rocket boots and going to the moon to live there because nope. Nope. Nope. Done here on Earth. Living on the moon. Nope. Nope. NOOOOOPE.
Nope.
So. Yeah. Nope. NOPE.
Second of all, this is just personal to me, but it's my review and it's not like I have to give the book the benefit of the doubt that someone else might like it, because I'm not doing YOUR review - I'm just not into the "I have to break up with your for your own good" trope. Blergh. Come on. Especially when it's verbally spelled out for the other party.

That's how that conversation would go in real life. That's not how it goes in books, for some reason, because... I don't know why. No, in books the person is always like, YOU'LL COME BACK SOME DAY! No, that's not how it would go.

"Oh, wow, turns out you're a bitch and I don't want to be with you anyway."
THAT is how that would go.
Also, I was reading this in bed last night and kept up a running commentary to my husband about what part of who was in whose butt. It was pretty constant. I mean, things and parts were just in and out of butts ALL the TIME. I am not anti-butt at all, I read lots of butty books, but MAN. Butts butts butts! It was constant enough to be distracting, like, "Whoa, we're on the butts again?" Really, you can't help but notice it's all butts all the time with these two.
Anyway, one and half? I was REALLY bugged by the mother/daughter thing. WAY unrealistic. WAY. AND way uncomfortable. And the butts. MY GOD with the butts.
AND THEN the weird thing with the surgeon, all awkwardly thrown in for absolutely ZERO reason, resolved with absolutely NO dramatics or plot anythings, poorly written, and kind of just... sticking out there. Like a THUMB IN A BUTT.
This whole book was just like a thumb in a butt. Which is coincidental, considering, you know, the thumb in the butt.

I loved the way the author make me believe that the hero and heroine really LOVED and LIKED one another. The relationship with them was very sweet, even with the heroes profession...I won't spoil it you have to read it. Plus, the heroine is 10 years older than he is, and I thought that was a fresher storyline than normal.

Meh... This one really didn't do it for me. I should have known better, first of all the cover!!! I'm not one for the rug chest in the first place but without the guy's head that literally looks like a gorilla. And then with a title like Rent-A-Stud, what did I expect.
Jade is an almost 40 year old woman whose daughter hired her an "escort" for a work gala. Zack is a 30 year old who along with his brother and sister own a male escort service. Zack is their most sought after escort and is scheduled to accompany Jade to her work thingy.
Rent-A-Stud was a predictable romantica that only mildly held my attention to the point I'm surprised with myself that I even finished it. The love between the Jade and Zack was too rushed and though there was decent character development I felt there was too much time spent on Jade's completely unrealistic sex talks with her daughter. I mean I don't have a daughter and my relationship with my mom isn't as open as some but seriously... Talking to your mom about the last time you had "good sex" and how many orgasms the He Whore you bought for her last night gave just carries way too much of the T.M.I. category for a realistic mom/daughter relationship.
The book was short and I would have really liked it a lot more with less mother/daughter sex talks and more time creating at least a little bit of realism in the plot of an escort falling for one of his clients. I gave this 3 stars and I think that was generous.

I'm torn between 3 and 4 on this, so I rounded up. This was a steamy older (but only slightly) woman/younger man story. With an escort. Jade is almost 40 and was divorced a couple of years ago. She needs to attend a function, and her regular escort, her brother, is out of town. So her daughter hires her a "real" escort, Zach, who is 30-ish. While Jade thinks Zach is charming and gorgeous, she can't help but question every word out of his mouth. Is it practiced seduction? Does he know exactly what to say because of his profession? Or does he really mean the compliments that flow so easily? But even if he means them, it's irrelevant... he's so much younger than she is, it could never work. Not to mention the fact that he's an escort. She has no intentions of asking Zach for "extra", but when the time comes for them to say goodnight, she's decided she needs to take a chance and invites him in.
They both fall hard very fast, which seems a little unrealistic, but at the same time, very sweet to imagine such a thing could be real. Zach, who has been with so many women, doesn't doubt his own strong feelings for Jade even once. He knows almost immediately that she is the one. But Jade's inner dialogue takes a bit longer to work out that they can work.
Very steamy sex scenes, very sweet out-of-bed scenes. They were a great couple. This was a freebie from EC, and I'm tempted to check out the rest of the series if only to find out what woman brings Zach's bastard brother to his knees and which escort Zach's sister falls for.
And enjoyable read.

I'm giving it 3 stars, it had promise and failed to deliver. I like to suspend belief when I'm reading, but the dialogue between mother and daughter was pushing it too far. She buys her mother sex toys? And not just a fun vibrator, but an entire box of stuff (and wasn't she a hard-up student anyway?!?) - and then talks in detail about mother's sex life... Sorry, I don't buy that.
And I did some numbers in my head. Zach has been a 'popular' escort for 10 years, so lets say he has sex with one new woman every 2 weeks (I'm being generous here, stay with me a moment...) - that's an average of 26 a year - over 250 in 10 years. Yeah, he's experienced < rolls eyes >.
I thought Zach fell for her too quickly and I really REALLY think she would be more put off by his slut-history - especially when she screws him WITHOUT a condom, and without even asking first. So ok, she couldn't get pregnant, but HELLO... she works in a hospital and has never heard of STDs? Yeah, right!
So apart from the terrible cover and the cheesy title (which is actually kinda fun), it was only the author's great writing that held this together for me. 3 out of 5.

Good grief on a stick! Zach did everything and ANYTHING. I was sweating bullets reading this book which I read in one day. He was just SO YUMMY TO THE BONE. And a gorgeous male escort that had a big package too? Un-freaking-believable. Mercy me.
Jade's daughter arranges an escort date for her to a party at her place of employment. Zach, the escort, is 30 and Jade is 40 and this concerns her when the escort date turns into much, much more and they both begin to realize they have feelings for each other. Jade can't have children anymore and feels this will be a problem down the road.
But SERIOUSLY - WHO CARES how old he was? I could have been 28 and he could have been an 18 year-old and came to pick me up on a skateboard I would have just let it ROLL. This Kindle freebie was just all kinds of wrong for me. The set up is this: 21 year old daughter sets up 39 year old mother with an escort for a special gala and specifically asks said escort to ensure that sex is included in the deal. That's WAY too much information for my comfort. There's a lot of mother/daughter interaction that I thought was kind of weird. I don't want to buy lingerie for my mum and I DO NOT want to see her model it. I certainly DON'T BUY HER SEX TOYS (seriously, there was a whole box of "goodies" including anal beads and a butt plug!). So, that's the first bit of WTFery for me. Then, as I said, he's an escort. He sleeps with almost all of his clients. Nevertheless, they're condom free by the end of the weekend! I mean, Dude - really?!?.
There is plenty of hot sex (which was well written) but I found it difficult to suspend my disbelief to buy into the story. The story graded as high as it did because the sex was pretty hot.

I found the relationship between the Jade and Zach very sweet. Its seems all to perfect sometimes, but I think I like it because of that. Zach is the perfect man and Jade, despite her age, I find her easy to understand.

My Thoughts
Okay picked this one up free from Amazon to read because of a couple of things. Number one it was free, number two it was short and number three it sounded like it was more than just erotica and actually had a fairly decent story along with really hot sex scenes.
I was right and am so happy that I had a chance to meet Jade and Zach. Also happy to have discovered his brother Brent, his sister Michelle and Jade's daughter Breanna because these 2ndry characters helped really flesh out the story.
It was a joy to watch the story unfold, every page brought something new to light and the relationship between Jade and Zach could not have been more smolderingly sexy but at the same time so easy and natural as time passed. This was not a wham bam thank you maam erotic romance, it had both characters sharing their vulnerabilities as well as their insatiable appetite for each other. A true May/December romance or in today's world a Cub and a Cougar that you will enjoy from beginning to end while desperately hoping that it all works out for the couple.
I will not spoil the book by telling you more, you need to read this one yourself because as a start to the series you know once Zach's story is over that his brother Brent and sister Michelle are going to have their own tales to tell as well.

I will say that this should be read by those over 18, there is anal intercouse, anal play and very graphic sex between Zach and Jade that should be read by those of legal adult age. The book is very hot but it is also more than just a book with sex in it, the characters are very believable and their relationship comes across as one that many women would kill to have as would many men as well!

In the words of Gertrude Stien, "There is no there there." Meaning there is no story.
First off, the cover art. Others have written about this, so I won't bemoan it too much. But his upper arms are too big and aren't in proportion to his forearms. For the artist, perhaps keeping a copy of Grey's Anatomy-book not nighttime hospital drama-handy might help. The man's face can't be seen due to the long sweeping hair. Hands are scary. The addition that I purchased looks as if there is some type of double exposure and there are actually two right hands.
These characters live in the Southern part of the US, Texas, specifically, yet I didn't "hear" it. No long drawn out words, no y'alls, no nothing. This could have been set anyplace America. I realize this was a short book, but there is no Houston there either. Again, there is no there there.
For this being the first book in a trilogy, there was no set up. The reader does not get any background as to how the business came into being and why the three siblings run it. Where are the parents? I just assumed the children were orphans raised by some strict maiden aunt who though sex was taboo.
And on to the siblings, Brent and Michelle. We're supposed to believe that Michelle knows nothing of the sex he has with his "dates?" "While Michelle didn't know any intimate details about his dates. . ." (p 142). Really, the reader is supposed to beleive this? She is a partner in this business. And Brent blows-up when Zach tells him he no longer will be working as an escort because he has fallen in love, at warp speed I might add, with Jade. Yet, roughly 7 pages later, he is in total support of his brother.
The book needed more room for a better story.
Now on to the juicy stuff-the sex. Hot. If I rated this book on the sex scenes alone, I would give them four stars. Toy usage, oral and anal sex both ways, and multiple positions. Sounds like a great Saturday night to me. But the sex took up too much room in the text. The majority of it was just the sex. As a friend of mine whom I share books with said, "they are doing the nasty all over the place." And they did.
I was also a creeped out by the relationship between Jade and her daughter Breanna. Jade strips down naked in front of her. Really? While I understand that my mother has seen my body naked in various stages of my life, I don't just strip in front of her nor she me. I also would not tell the stud I've bought her for the night to escort her to a job function to bang her brains out. And if I even thought to buy her a box of toys, I would expect to get an ear full at the very least.
Breanna was the most interesting sub character in the book. I really had no sense of Brent aside from being a horn dog and Michelle-the-mother-giving more weight to my orphan theory.
I really can't say that I would recommend this book to anyone.

I enjoyed reading it. The book though not very long, has a storyline with just enough beginning, middle and end dialog to feel complete, not rushed. The story was warm and so was the sex. The next book in the series looks interesting.

After reading this book, I have to say that this book could've been & should've been better.
My advice to those who are thinking about buying this book?:
1. Please save your money
2. Consider buying
or
instead. All 3 are much better alternatives to "Rent-A-Stud."
In my opinion, an excess amount of Smut does not make up for a weak storyline, nor does it make up for characters that are underdeveloped.
Overall, I really wanted to like
, but in the end, I just ended up fast forwarding to the end and eventually I deleted it from my eReader.

First of all...who comes up with these book covers?, some are so disturbing that they actually affect my reading. I like a bit of hair on a mans chest but this reminds me of Paranormal Shapeshifter hair...after going through the change
The story itself wasn't too bad but not very believable...perhaps if I didn't put myself in the heroines position and how I would feel, maybe I would have liked it more. I should have known right away by Zach's profession that it wasn't going to rate very high with me as I almost always HATE man whore storylines. It's very hard for me to perceive the possibility of change and the ability to commit to a relationship when the man whore in question repeatedly states how much sex he's had, how much he loves sex, how much he loves women. To settle with someone like that, one would have to not have an insecure bone in her body, and I did not get that impression with Jade, especially with her hang-up of being 10 years older than Zach. 2.5 stars rounded up because if you can look past all of that, it did have a sweet ending

The premise is good - sexy male escort, older woman needing a date for a work related night out. Older woman doesn't want to sleep with escort, just go out for the event (you know where this is going). The sexy escort, Zach, falls for older woman, Jade, after her ever thoughtful and understanding daughter organises the 'date' and fun and games on her mum's behalf.
This book is good for a romantic quicky. If you like sexy guys that massage, are incredibly thoughtful, charming and romantic, with lots of sexual prowess that quickly fall for the woman with minimum fuss or drama, then this is nice read for you.
Overall, I thought it was a sweet, sexy, and romantic read with nice characters. Because of the length they did come together quickly and everything seemed fast tracked and a bit two dimensional but it was definitely a light and easy read for a Sunday afternoon.

This was a sweet, happily-ever-after, romantic erotica book. If it weren't for the explicit descripitions of the sex scenes, this would have been a nice little contemporary romance story about a 40 year old divorce who gets set up on a date with a 30 year old hunk and they fall in love. There's a lot of sex, though, of the slightly daring vanilla variety. (The heroine discovers she likes anal sex and toys, but that's as crazy as it gets.)
This book was a short, easy read. If you like erotica, it's worth the time, but it won't blow your socks off.

this was a freebie and a really pleasing novel. Jade is 40yr old divorced mother who was arranged to go out with a "stud" Zach. him and his siblings own an escort service. he shows Jade a great time and they have the chance to get to know each other. Jade has some hang ups about being with a younger man which makes a struggle in their relationship.
Zach's siblings and Jane's daughter are good side characters. they make the novel fun as well.
i'll definitely be reading more by this author.

Good read. I'm not a fan of the older woman/younger man plots - generally they have WAY too much angsting by the woman - but this one works. Not that the heroine doesn't go on and on, she does, but she eventually figures out that the problem is NOT him and his age but her and her fears of abandonment. Thoroughly likable characters.

I read this book a while ago. Someone recommended it when I asked about older woman and younger man. The title wasn't quite appealing but didn't deter me to pick it up. From the title and cover I was expecting a so-so erotica romance story. But it was more than that. I enjoyed it a lot. There's some angst and believable issue in the book. The relationship between H and h was sweet. The unusual premise made this book an unique one. Great love story between male escort service and his client.

I enjoyed this book. It wasn't quite deep enough for me, but I read it because it's the first book in the series and I wanted to read the second book, "Michelle's Men". If I know about it I will always choose to read a series in order, so that's why I read this one. I liked it, fine, but the character depth just wasn't there for me. Some of the choices the characters made also weren't believable to me.

I thought this was a cute story. The chemistry between Zach and Jade felt realistic and I thought their feelings were each other were genuine. However, Jade did annoy me with her reasoning on why she shouldn't be with Zach. The writing was good, making this a quick and easy read, I am looking forward to reading the next one in this series.

When Jade's daughter hires an escort to take her mother to a work function, she is hoping her divorced mom will rejoin the dating world. Only Jade and Zach are wonderful together. Hot and sizzling. But the age difference scares Jade too much and almost destroys their chance of happienss. All the right elements make for a great story.

I will start off with this is a very HOT STEAMY book. I was very shocked at first but it got me really fast. I read this in a few hours because I just could not put it down. It was an ok storyline.., older women gets involved with younger man what got me were the steamy sex scenes it was extremely hot. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get a little hot and bothered.

3 1/2 stars. Though I enjoy reading a beta hero now and then the books ususally don't turn out to be keepers for me (as in this case)--although, the hero was more of an alpha/beta mix. Good book, though, especially if you like stories that involve an "older" heroine.

well, the title is fairly self-explanatory. it was an ok read, and it ws free, so i can't complain too much. personally i can't see many daughters setting their moms up like this one did with a rented date and sex toys, but....
