A group of 5 best friends call themselves the Chef Girls since they make meals for people. They are middle schoolers and this year the seventh grade is having a ski trip at Chestnut Hill Farm in Vermont. Amanda and Molly are twins, Natasha is getting ready to have her bat mitzvah, Peichi, and Shawn who lost her mother two years ago. All of the girls parents said yes to the trip except Natasha’s who are worried about her being away from them for that long. Natasha lashes out against her parents but then apolizies in the morning and her parents agree to go to the parent meeting before making a decision. The next day they said she could go but that they will also be going as chaperons. Shawn has an enemy at school who’s name is Angie, who were once best friends. They are both on the cheerleading team but split because Angie was being mean to other girls and Shawn didn’t like that. Over the next couple of days Shawn gets pranked called, graffiti was put on her locker, bus number got twitched and gum was stuck on her suitcase. Once they got to camp the boys immediately started playing pranks on the girls and they returned with some of their own. On the last day Shawn decides she doesn’t want to go skiing and read her book. Angie runs in saying that one of the twins got hurt on a ski hill and that she wanted her to wait with her while she got help. Shawn runs to the hill when a snow storm starts and she becomes lost. Meanwhile everyone is back at camp waiting for dinner and no one knew where Shawn was. Natasha told her mom that she was missing and everyone was searching for her. Angie ends up confessing what she did and eventually Shawn was found with minimal frostbite. Once they return to school Shawn agrees to go to a therapy session with Angie to sort out what is going on between them. Angie expresses that Shawn hurt her when she didn’t want to be friends anymore since her dad walked out on her and her mom. They became close cause they both have experienced the loss of a parent. In the end they all attend Natasha’s bat mitzvah. { the point of view of this book was really confusing. It started out as Amanda then went to third person then almost to Shawn. I didn’t really know who was suppose to be the main character. However, I will say that for being the 12th book in a series it was it’s own story and I didn’t need any previous information about the girls to understand what was going on. }

This book is about 5 friends; Amanda, Molly, Shawn, Peichi, and Natasha who have a cooking group called "Dish". In this group the girls make their own recipes and cook food for everybody in the community. They are all going on their 7th grade class dki trip to Chestnut Hill Farm in Vermont. They are all so excited to go. After everything is settled, they all finally get to Vermont. Well, there is a bully named Angie. Angie doesn't like the girls very much, and likes to pick on them. While they're on they're trip, Angie pulls a bad prank on Shawn. She had told Shawn that one of her friends was in the woods and thay they needed Shawn's help. But then Angie just left Shawn out in the woods and she was lost. Everybody was looking for Shawn and after a few hours later, some teachers finally found her. Angie got in a lot of trouble and was sent home from the trip.
This book was alright. It was kind of dumb.
I would recommend this book to any Elementary or Junior High kid.
Text-to-self: This school trip to Vermont, reminds me of when we went on our 6th grade school trip to Dauphin Island, Alabama.

Thanks Kayla! It was a good book! I had no idea is was #12 in a series, I've never even heard of this series before! It's about 5 friends who have a cooking business, but mostly it's about their 7th grade ski trip.
