Adapting battlefield communications systems to accommodate fast-changing technological developments, while at the same time meeting the operational requirements of a broad range of operational environments, is a major challenge for both civilian and military defense communications engineers. This work examines satellite, cellular, and network solutions to these problems and presents practical techniques for upgrading current systems.
Great book that covers the fundamentals of tactical communications from a systems point of view. It includes some history, a mapping of how communications are used in a military context, and how to consider tactical communications in a structured framework.
