Alexis Kienlen

Alexis Kienlen is a poet, fiction writer, journalist and editor whose work has appeared in numerous publications across Canada. From 2001-2006, she was the literary editor of Ricepaper magazine, a magazine of Asian Canadian arts and culture.

Her first book of poetry "She dreams in Red" was published in 2007. Her second book of poetry "13" was published in Fall 2011.
Her third book, a biography called "Truth, love, non-violence: the story of Gurcharan Singh Bhatia" came out in 2014.

Alexis has taught writing to teens, and wrote a column on books for The Grande Prairie Daily Herald Tribune from 2007-2018. She currently works as a reporter for "Alberta Farmer" newspaper.

Her first novel "Mad Cow", was published in 2020.

Her poetry, fiction and non-fiction articles have appeared in numerous places across Canada and on the Internet

A book with poems about childhood depression, board games, and the inner working of a beehive. This book is both funnier and darker than the author's previous book.

A worthy sophomore follow up.

Really lovely personal poetry with an occasional bite. Unsurprisingly, I loved the section of board game poems.
