I'm surprised that I'm the first to review this book because it's a very good western...Showdown at Stony Crest by Joseph Wayne (1957) is a well written, well plotted tale of vengeance in western Colorado. Cole Knapp, a former Marshall in an Arizona border town, has traveled to the home of his murdered best friend, Andy, to further investigate his death. Cole finds Andy's wealthy family in turmoil over ownership of their ranch, their poor relations with the local town and a number of suspicious murders. It's a great story with lot's of action and characters...A very enjoyable read of the western genre...4.0 outta 5.0...
