Too much fantasy world-building for a novella. Nothing had happened romantically by 40% but then 41% was zero to a hundred instantly. Then at 70% back to fantasy which made the story not flow.

This is the first book in this intriguing multi author series that I've read but I know it won't be the last. I loved the idea of your fantasy being fulfilled and Stella had a wee fascination with elves and their pointy ears ;) Valis, on a secret spy mission for his king, finds himself through a portal to Earth and literally bumping into Stella. These two had a strong connection right from the get-go and soon the heat about burned up my reader ;D I loved the added drama and politics of Valis' mission and the insta-love connection he had with Stella. He was willing to change everything in his life for her...so swoony! It was a fast paced and steamy read with action, danger, drama, emotions and love. Good fun!

Valis lives on the other side of the portal. This story might be confusing, but give it time. Stella is of our world, but Valis is not. He fell through the portal he was supposed to be investigating. She thinks he's her date to a KNK event, but really, he's a lost traveler from another dimension.

Obviously, she's worth the wrong guy. The use of the safeword should have clued her in, that and his genuine confusion over the shower.

Stella had a kink to itch and her best friend set it all up, when Valis turns up it's meant to be a one night role play deal, until she learns there's more to Valis than meets the eye. Well written steamy elvish desires match maker romance.

Interesting fantasy story

This novella is really a strange one from the KNK archive. Elven Valis was pretty wonderful in my opinion. Stella definitely gets her absolute fantasy dream as a reality and it’s a pretty wild ride. I have to confess that if I had as much “sexy time” as they do I wouldn’t be walking for weeks! Lol

Portal to Love

Valis goes through a portal to Earth never expecting to find his true love in human Stella. Stella was only in it for one night of fantasy, never expecting Valis to be a real elf or to fall for him. To be together Valis has to betray his people but he knows he is meant to be with Stella in this sweet tale.

Stella being stood up could just be a good thing. It has lead to the man of her dreams. He's from another world. Will Valis like the realm of the humans? Can Stella entice him to stay? A good read.

Very interesting story.

I love a good paranormal book. And this one was quite good. I loved the ending. But I wished the book was longer. I'm curious to see if Valis and Stella are truly free from the Citadel. 🤔

A Rogue worth the wait

I loved the rich history in Valis' story spilling out on the page. Kraterra is a world I would like to know more about. Stella's story was complicated, but as they came together, I felt the love. I'm looking forward to the next KNK story.

Part of the KNK Matchmaking Agency series each can be read as a standalone set up of two people who go into a situation not expecting it to go anywhere but ends up going where they never imagined. Stella is a sweetheart, but she is rut pretty much not happy with the boyfriend, life is humdrum day in, day out but she doesn’t know how to change it but that is where best friends come in because her set her up with KNK Matchmaking agency of course she fights it every step of the way. But in doing so her best friend helps her see who she really is or helps her see who/what she wants for herself waking up something she didn’t know was inside of herself. Valis sexy as all get out mistake sort of or more like an accident, he was looking for one place bumped into a beautiful woman on her way to her room with a matchmaking card from the mysterious KNK Matchmaking agency and this is where the ride gets a little bumpy but also a whole lot of fun 😊 but where does that leave the two of them considering it was an honest mistake on his part or should I say misdirection in a world he doesn’t belong in, will she accept that she isn’t who she thought she was, will she like the things he brought out in her, can they come to a common ground since neither wanted to walk away from the other, will she owe her best friend a thank you, and can they end up with their own HEA?

Rogue

Rogue was a quick and passionate read. The chemistry between Valis and Stella was intense. I loved the story wish it was longer. This was my first book by Kayla St.James.
