I write a lot of paranormal books for someone who is afraid of the dark. And I wonder why I have to sleep with the lights on. Sometimes life is a teenaged B horror movie and I'm the one who investigates when the scary music is playing. But the voices are calling and resistance is… Yes. I am a Star Trek geek, too. And a fan of RPG’s. With a slight coolness factor since I've been told I'm allowed to join the pops.

Naw. I like being a nerdy girl :)

I have taken a while to review this book..not out of lack of opinion but because I knew when I finally placed this review up that I would be finally finished with The Hunted as a series and that does not sit easy with me. This series grabs you by the throat and wrings you with emotion that leaves you gasping for breath one moment and then grasping for "more" the next. Hunt ends the series with a bang. It is the most charged of the whole series and is truly the climax of the story.
Patti's power to grip the reader emotionally is at the heart of her characters. Her characters live, breathe, fight, battle, love and hate with an authenticity that makes them more real than fictional. Reid carries the reader through all four books of this series with a powerful humanity - portraying the dichotomy of human nature's fight between good and evil.
Reid is a character you will not want to leave and The Hunted is a storyline that you will not forget easily.
Hunt will leave you both satisfied with a brilliantly plotted climax and resolution to The Hunted series and with a wish that the story could have continued on only because you do not want to leave Reid and his story.

It's close to a month since I finished this series, and I was trying to decide if I should write a review. The best measure of a book, in my opinion, is how it sits with you after several weeks. And this series sits very well with me.

Reid is one of the most human (and, erm...inhuman) characters I've encountered recently. He's got so many dimensions, with just a little hypocrisy. I love characters that are comfortable with their hypocrisy - it makes them much more real. The series read, to me, as the journey of a boy in his self-discovery wrapped in a really good tale. A quick look at my "favorites" shelf will tell you that I really love books like that.

All in all, great series.

I just finished reading this book and wow! I am speechless. What an ending!
As you can see in my previous reviews, I loved the first three books from The Hunted series. So yes, I was expecting a good ending. But the writer managed to deliver so much more than I was expecting.
All I can say is that I recommend these books! They are smart, interesting and the leading character, Reid, has a complexity you can rarely find in novels these days. He will stay with you a long time after you finished the reading. And we have Patti Larsen to thank for that!

The Final instalment in the Hunted Series brings the headlong dash to freedom to a close. Reid struggles with the effects of the black powder and his need for more, while still needing his freedom. His strength is underlined in his actions - never leaving anyone behind, always striving for freedom, and conrolling the urges brought on by his changes.
HUNT is a satisfying conclusion to the thrilling series and Ms. Larsen constantly delivers in terms of writing, plot and charcter development.

This entire series was awesome!

This is a story about survival, honor and what truly makes a family.

I really wondered how the characters were going to pull through! The plot turned on a dime in a couple spots and took the story to places I didn't expect. I loved how Reid, the hero, learned how to do whatever was necessary to survive and protect those he cared for, even as he struggled to maintain his humanity while battling new and deadly cravings. The ending of the story was a little anti-climactic but tied up all the loose ends quite nicely. It even left the possibility of continuing the story, and I wonder if Ms. Larsen will see fit to share with us some new adventures for Reid and his family.

That was my second series of paranormal books ,and I read all the 4 books almost in one breath! Was incrivel ! Patti has such a good imagination ,and takes you along for the ride and you don't want to leave her. The plot is very easy to understant , and sometimes you can guess what is going to happen , but you don't care! You keep reading anyways. The descrition is great , and you feel like you are there ! Scared , happy , sad ....All the emotions are so intense , that brings the charecters alive , and sometimes reminds you of someone you know ! When you are done reading , you have to take a pause, because these book gives you something to think about....could these happen? How soon?

I was a little disappointed in this last book. I guess it wasn't exactly the ending I was hoping for, but it still made for a good ending. A busy schedule forced me to draw out finishing this book.
I gave this book an overall three stars. I feel like the story line for the "forces outside of Reid's pack" got a little sloppy near the end; it almost felt as if it wasn't thought out all the way. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed reading this last book... it just felt as though the author scrambled to figure out what to do with everybody at the end.

Great ending to a great series. This book, as with the first three, started out with thrilling action and suspense, and maintained it throughout the book. Great action, continued compassion from the new "hunters". It was a great twist to see characters from the past. Several plot lines were completed in very satisfying ways. Of course Reid's conclusion was the most satisfying. Great series. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This book, like the previous three in the series, continues on the roller coaster ride of the intense battle to win the ever elusive prize called freedom. The ending is as rewarding as the life that now awaits Reid to begin. This has been an amazing journey for me through these four books and I can truly say they are on the top of my favorite list of books I have read. A very fulfilling read!............

This series is a must read

You quickly feel empathy with each character. Each pushes you into the next one, desperate to see what else they come up against, and of course, the ending. I wish there were more in the series!
