This set of books needs to be read in order. I didn't realize it was a set when I picked up the second book. But since the story didn't resolve nicely by the end I knew there must be more in a series. Since the story is continuous through the three, it was annoying as I read #1 to already know how it would (or wouldn't) turn out in book 2.

This is Christian lit and the religious element wasn't overbearing. It was clean for the most part but had mature themes like premarital pregnancy, and domestic abuse.

I have to say that I spent most of my time in these three books feeling very angry. So many of the male characters are largely horrible people. I was so mad at them for being dishonest, overbearing, domineering and in at least one case, down right evil. Considering the genre I knew there had to be a happy ending but it sure took a long time to get to it. By the time I read the second book and then the first book I knew I would have to read the third book quickly to finally get some resolution. I stayed up half the night to finish because I knew I was so angry I either wouldn't be able to sleep or I would have nightmares. I was so mad at most all the men in the story that I kept having to remind myself not to be angry with my husband. In truth, not all the men are bad but the ones that are play a huge part in the story so it feels like they are all horrible.

I couldn't see how this could possibly play out to make a happily ever after considering the path the story was going. And then when I figured out what was going to happen to make things right, I found the solution very unsatisfying. I kept waiting for someone to come forward and stand up for what was right and instead everyone resigned themselves to what was wrong. And it felt like those in the wrong never really had to pay the consequences of their actions. It all worked out too neatly for them-particularly the uncle. Only one horrible man got what was coming to him. So to sum up, I was angry for all but a few pages of the three books and then unsatisfied with the ending.

I found that "The Broadmoor Legacy" series were a bit boring. Almost as if the author had to stretch the story through 3 books. But thats just my option, its a pretty clean series except for a little something in the second book.

This book was long and fairly predictable. I believe the author was a bit long winded. I was hoping it would be a quick read- but the first 1.5 books went rather slow. It didn't pick up till the end half.

Rather wordy, contrived, and somewhat unbelievable. Not really what I think of when I think "Christian fiction". Worth neither the time nor money.
