"Don't think of pampering yourself as decadence or forbidden pleasure," writes Stephanie Tourles. "Think of it as a way to preserve your sanity in an insanely paced world." 50 Simple Ways to Pamper Yourself is filled with little things you can do to give yourself some time to unwind, treat yourself to little pleasures, and feel better about yourself. You're encouraged to relax over a cup of herb tea (several recipes included), go out for morning exercise, and laugh. Most of the tips are beauty and body-pampering ideas using herbs, essential oils, and other natural ingredients. You'll give yourself facials; soak, scrub, and splash your body; stretch and massage your feet; and take milk baths. Though some of the tips are quick fixes, many take a lot of preparation. You make your own skin cleanser out of oatmeal, sunflower seeds, almond meal, and flower petals, for example. Or make a "Zucchini Zit Zapper" skin-healing mask from zucchini and oatmeal, or homemade mayonnaise to moisturize dry hair. If you're spending too little time on yourself, 50 Simple Ways to Pamper Yourself will help get you back on track, with plenty of creative ideas for giving yourself the gift of self-pampering. --Joan Price
Obviously I haven't quite 'finished' this book, since it's something that you refer to alot. But I have tried about 2/3s of it and scanned the rest.
Lots of great information, herbal recipes and tips, Everything frome stree mangement, foot care, skin care, body scrubs, fitness, anti-aging, pedicure, reflexology, sleep etc.
Recipes include: Happy Herb Tea, Aromatherpeutic Milk Bath, Herbal Toothpaste, Snack Mixes, Sun Relief Spray, Lavender Powder, etc.
They use alot of fresh and dried herbs and oils, so you should have access to a store that sells a good selection or be able to grow your own.
I thought this book was going to be different, by listing ways in general on how to pamper yourself. Turns out it was more of natural ways to pamper yourself. I did realize and learn some stuff from reading this, such as the foot massage which actually works. It was also a quick and easy read, which is initially why I had gotten it.
