Great overview of why technology is important in the education of our students. Provides multiple anecdotes and resources. Has suggested activities and questions for reflection. The chapter on primary sources was particularly instructive.
clueless parents/teachers can't and shouldn't compete with technology - they should use it - but how can they if they don't understand it - this book will hold their hands as they go through fast changes in tech available to kids, and even give them ideas on how to leverage it to help kids learn and live. i remember in a media edu conference in SF june 2005 the speaker told parents and teachers to activate their skype account rightaway and was met with blank looks. so he played back a phone conversation between 2 teens using skype and told the audience to shape up. i really hate the cover of this book - but pretty good layout design that mimics the look and feel of a website.
