Όσον αφορά τη πρόοδο μιας χώρας, τρεις είναι οι αναγκαίες και ικανές συνθήκες που μπορεί να την κάνουν πραγματικότητα: πολιτική βούληση απόρροια οξύτατης διαίσθησης, παιδεία ικανή να παράγει ανθρώπους οραματιστές και φιλόδοξους και βεβαίως... 100.000 δολλάρια. Αυτή η περιπέτεια του Λούκυ Λουκ, αναφέρεται στην επέκταση του τηλέγραφου έτσι ώστε να καταφέρει επιτέλους η Αμερική να γίνει ένα τεράστιο τραπέζι γύρω από το οποίο θα κάθονται όλοι οι πολίτες της. Και στην συγκεκριμένη ιστορία, τα 100.000 δολλάρια παρ' ολίγο να μετατραπούν σε τροχοπέδη της προόδου, εφόσον η ανθρώπινη φύση κάνει μερικά... αγγελούδια να κάνουν πράγματα που δεν θα ήθελαν, αλλά τα κάνουν. Για χάρη της προόδου όμως, είμαστε αναγκασμένοι να αναρωτηθούμε : "Μασάει" ο Λουκυ Λουκ... αρνάκι ραγού ; Δεν μασάει. Γι αυτό φωνάξτε "ΓΙΠΙΙΙΙΙΙ !...". Είστε απόλυτα δικαιολογημένοι και γι αυτό θα πρέπει να το "κάψετε" !

René Goscinny (1926 - 1977) was a French author, editor and humorist, who is best known for the comic book Asterix , which he created with illustrator Albert Uderzo, and for his work on the comic series Lucky Luke with Morris (considered the series' golden age).

I can almost believe that the second telegraph sent is also a real history fact, but I can't find anything of it one way or the other. Still it nags me.

Often overlooked in the UK this is a great comic.. this is a humourous look at the completion of the telegraph line. Taking historical cues and having fun with it Goscinny and Morris pack each page with gags and adventure. Lucky Luke is a very likeable character and was created and drawn by Morris, asterix co-creator, Goscinny, took over writing duties until his death. Like asterix the series is still going strong with a new generation of writers and artists. Long may this type of comic continue :)

Lucky Luke újabb vadnyugati históriája a távíróvonal felállításának utolsó szakaszát követi végig, amivel is teljessé vált a nyugat és kelet közötti összeköttetés az USA-ban. 2 csapat egyszerre indul, a győztesé lesz 100e dollár, már adott is természetesen, hogy valaki megpróbálja majd szabotálni a dolgot. Ám ez az egész meglepően civilizáltan zajlik, sokkal kevésbé radikálisak a katasztrófák. Vannak egész jó poénok is, mint például a Sosone törzsfőnök és a medve esete. Korrekt kis limonádé sztori, ami jól illeszkedik a Lucky Luke albumok sorába, de ezúttal az elképesztő poén-áradat elmarad.

Me gustó más por su valor histórico que por su humor. Conocer un poco del origen de Western Union y la línea entre costa y costa para comunicaciones, me ayudó a entender uno de los factores que ayudaron a los Estados Unidos a ser tan poderosos. Lucky Luke sirve en esta historia para ayudar en los obstáculos del camino en la misma vena que en el volumen 9 (Los Rieles de la Pradera). Estos son mi tipo de historia favorita, porque no cumple con los tropos generales de un Western (el duelo a mediodía, defender un pueblo, etc), sino que trabaja más como un periplo y cada obstáculo viene en el camino, mejor que como en otras historias que los obstáculos aparecen de repente.

En el departamento visual, se nota la mejoría en Morris. Tomando enfoques más riesgosos y un coloreado que no se aleja mucho de lo que tradicionalmente ha hecho en los tomos anteriores, pero se acercan cada vez más a lo realista.

Lucky Luke acompanha-os na empresa, mas enquanto os postes são colocados e o fio ligado, sabotagens acontecem pelo caminho, porque há um prémio de 100 mil dólares em jogo...

"O Fio Que Canta" é um dos livros que Morris e Goscinny colaboraram para a personagem Lucky Luke. Baseado em factos reais - estão desenhados Abraham Lincoln e Bringham Young, o líder dos mormons, pois a junção seria em Salt Lake City - é uma aventura divertida sobre as dificuldades que passaram para concretizar esta tarefa bem titânica, ainda antes da construção do caminho de ferro transcontinental, que iria acontecer no final dessa década. É graças à pena de Goscinny que se torna num livro ótimo.

Barangkali dari segi cerita, komik Lucky Luke ini tidak terlalu lucu. Tapi nomor ini begitu penuh dengan sejarah. The Singing Wire adalah julukan yang diberikan oleh orang Indian untuk kabel telegraph yang membentang di sepanjang daratan Amerika. Alkisah, bagian barat dan timur Amerika pada masa itu belum terhubung secara cepat. Komunikasi masih terbatas (di awal-awal komik, Morris bahkan menceritakan tentang tahun-tahun dan sarana komunikasi yang dipakai sebelum telegraph ditemukan). Maka Presiden Lincoln kemudian memutuskan untuk menghubungkan kedua belah sisi Amerika itu dengan kawat telegraph yang pada masa itu pembangunannya terputus. Di sini Lucky Luke berperan sebagai pengawal pembangunan tiang-tiang dan kawat telegraph. Cerita kemudian menjadi rumit karena ternyata ada hadiah bagi tim pertama yang sampai ke kota tujuan.

This story was rated quiet high, and whenever lucky luke adresses one iconic element of the west, its usually realy good.
And yeah its a good story, it had a bit of a mystery to it, and we can even see some of its elements carried over to the movie la ballada de dalton, whit the salt desert, and the comedically elaborate selection of drinks avaiable to the survivors.

My biggest gripe however is the antagonist, the main one, not his agent. It doesnt feel much like a race whitout real updates on the enemy, and the traitor is completly hidden.
As such it suffers from offscreening. I think showing the shenanigans of the other fraction could have been entertaining to.

In a book by the classic Morris/Goscinny team, Lucky Luke joins an effort to extend the telegraph wires from west and east until they meet at Salt Lake City. Whichever team arrives there first will win a prize. Unfortunately, there's a saboteur on Lucky Luke's team, and the terrain is difficult. Typically enjoyable, typically dated in places, the square and rectangular panels look absolutely splendid on an iPad.
