Ranger Security Employee file #153 Name: Jay Weatherford, aka the Phoenix Specialty: Getting out of really hot situations…and creating new ones!
Subject (Jay Weatherford) was nicknamed "the Phoenix" after walking out of a burning building unscathed. He's Ranger Security's newest recruit, and assigned to Case File #8765—locating the heir to the Betterworth Chocolate fortune, Truffles (dog).
Working for the competition is Charlie Martin…and she has a grudge against Ranger Security. This could complicate the investigation. Getting under each other's skin is one thing. Getting under each other—in the hot, sexy and naked way—is another!
The situation is heating up, and fast. Our man is fireproof.
Another enjoyable Ranger Security book. Charlie has just quit the Atlanta PD, she likes being a cop but people are constantly judging her, she also works at a women shelter, she doubts she will be hired at Ranger Security since she is not army but gives it a shot and is rejected. The guy hired in her place is Jay who just quit after coming out unscathed in a fire and has survival guilt.
Both are on the same case, finding a dog heir, Charlie is angry, but Jay shows her he is a good guy, the standard fare.
Never under estimate a woman that is the lesson the guys of Ranger Security are going to learn real quick. Charlie and Jay are investigating the kidnapping of a dog, but for different companies. Charlie has a grudge against Ranger Security. Can these two get a long enough to put to heads together to bring the dog home safely. Of course the sexual sparks that fly when these two are together will make things pretty interesting.
Another good read from Ms. Nelson. However, I'm beginning to think that the Men Out of Uniform series is running out of steam and is in danger of becoming predictable and unoriginal in plots.
I always like rhonda nelson's ranger series and this is no exception. It wasn't my favourite of the series - i still like the original 3 the best - but a good, humourous story with a feisty heroine.
