Lizzette knew about Dutch's reputation with women, but that didn't stop her from falling in love with him. He wasn't just a local rancher, he was an ex-hockey player that the town seemed to revere. However, she fell for the man, not the image and because of it,had her heart broken. Five years later when she returned to the same town, her feelings hadn't changed, but neither did he. . So Dutch/Jason is a cowboy and an ex-hockey star. He's never had to work to get a woman and doesn't seem to have the first clue how to go about it. He tends to go about it all wrong! First thing is to NOT tell the chick you dig, that you will never love her or have a relationship with her. Guaranteed to make her walk away, which she did, 5 years ago (yet somehow her/their secret baby is now a 5 year old?) There's some math problems with this one.
Anyways, I wasn't crazy about Lizette at first because she never told Dutch about their son. I realize he was an ass etc, but that's still not right. And he never calls her on it because he feels she was justified? Hmmmm.
So most of the angst is whether or not he can stay faithful to her.
Lizette's been in love with Dutch since forever and when she gave everything to him yet he didn't want a commitment, she left. Until five years later, she's back and she's not alone. She come back with a gorgeous 4 year old boy. And it turns out her feeling towards Dutch haven't change at all. Now, what about his feeling? Does he still feel the same?
Lietha Wards continue to surprise me. I mean, beneath those goddamn awful cover she used, lies a one hell story that made me chills all over. She's good. She just need new cover, new editor and huge publicity!
I like Liz! She's fierce and independent. And Dutch, he suit everything that Miss Wards described, womanizer, playful and sweet. Despite everything he did to Liz, I liked him. A lot.
But again, there are moments when I confused because there was no boundaries between flashbacks and present time. Miss Wards also jumped from one point of view to another in some sort of confusing way so I kind of had a hard time catching up. But then again, nothing editor couldn't do. Seriously, Lietha Wards is talented!
You know how when a book allows you to believe one thing, and then at the end, it's something entirely different? Well in this case, by the time you learn it, it's too late. I wasn't impressed by the H at the beginning, and he didn't win any hearts and minds by his behavior, either.
Wish I could be more specific except to say that the H is a whiny manchild with no common sense or sensitivity. He will make the h miserable again and again because he is so self-absorbed.
When I read books like this I hope that mothers today are bringing up their daughters to understand the difference between love and infatuation/sex, because it seems like too many adult women/authors don't seem to recognize it.
Ever since I found out about Lietha Wards..I have been reading her work. I don’t know if it is the story itself or just the rugged pure alpha male cowboys that draw my attention...but there is definitely something there that is worth my continued reading of Ms. Wards’ books! I simply love them! :)
Wild Rush was the perfect blend of wonderful characters, a great storyline, funny and witty dialogue, and of course the hot steamy heat! It will definitely make you want to read and read and not stop until you reach the last word! Full of passion and love that makes your heart beat fast and your stomach do flip flops!
Lizzette knows that Dutch is known as the ladies man and his reputation with women..is not so stellar, but that didn't stop her from falling head over heels in love with him. He was a sexy totally gorgeous rancher and....an ex-hockey player. However, Liz fell for Dutch, for who he was as a person not what he was known for. But, things didn’t go as planned and Liz didn’t get the happily ever after that she wanted. She got her heart broken and was pregnant with his child, not that Dutch knew this. When five years later, Liz returns to her home town, she discovers that her feelings haven’t changed one bit, but neither has Dutch.
I adored Liz and her very cool, calm and collected personality, when she isn’t around Dutch that is! LOL ;p I also love how a truly wonderful mother she is. Dutch on the other is your typical everyday cowboy. I really enjoyed his fun, teasing, sexy personality. I also loved how he always sexually teases Liz and just wont leave her the heck alone! You definitely see the sparks fly between this couple and its kinda hard to miss the passion that each ignite in one another! Too bad they are both stubborn and don’t give in right away! No..wait thats a good thing..but still....you get my point! ;p
I really enjoyed this story and thought it had the most sweetest ending ever! My favourite ending out of all the Wild Series! It really was touching and it had my eyes going blurry! *smiles* Ms. Wards I don’t know what I would do if you stopped writing such wonderful stories! Wild Rush is a definite must read! =)
The more I read the book, the more I loved it! Dutch and Liz had sparks that leapt off the page and you could feel, but they had a bumpy ride to get behind those sparks. Liz keeps everything bottled up and Dutch can't move beyond his belief he can't love anyone
Needless to say, this causes a lot of stop and go with these two. With a little nudge from Liz's brother Jackson, and an intervention at the end from Micah, this HEA finally gets done
If you like your men alpha, clueless, stubborn and determined, then you will love Dutch. He has no idea how Liz feels about his everyday actions, because he has never had to worry about that before. He knows he hurts her, he just can't figure out why
Liz has to dig deep to brush off her first feeling when Dutch does something to push her away. When she stops to figure out his feelings behind it, she finally gets to his feelings and understanding how to treat her man
Now, there is a big problem that nearly ends everything, but Liz's son and brother do what they can to stop the implosion. Dutch finally steps up to the plate and realizes all his feelings and confesses all to Liz.
The epilogue is the icing on the cake, these two were made for each other, and Dutch always gets his way, and Liz is happy to go along with it!
Once again another cute, short and sweet read by Lietha Wards… I’m not sure how I came across her but I kind of got addicted it seems. Love Lizzette and Dutch, was absolutely stunned by the revelation by Dutch there at the end *HAPPY DANCE OVER THAT* :-P It was also nice getting some Tess and Jacob in this book too!
