It is not just a collection of bible stories but it is a gentle introduction to young children finding their way round the bible and learning whereabouts in the bible their favourite stories are found. And of Course, it is well illustrated. But The main problem of the Stories are greatly edited from the original including additional fictional details and omissions of critical parts of the stories.

Stories are greatly edited from the original including additional fictional details and omissions of critical parts of the stories. For example the Creation is covered in 8 sentences with no mention of the days or Sabbath and then a page and a half covers Eve eating the fruit.

This bible is really lovely looking and the stories are very clearly written with children in mind! I think my nearly 3 year old will enjoy me reading this to him, the text is easy to understand and the illustrations are very beautiful, with muted colours and showing real emotions on the people in the drawings.

The copy I got to review only did the first 10 chapters of the old testament, so I can not speak about the rest of the book, nor if the New testament has a different feel to it, however I’m going to assume that it stays the same, which makes this a very neat children’s bible. I like that the book will have a hardcover, as these seem to last longer and I find them more beautiful looking in the bookcase.

This book is lovely for anyone to read, even if you are not Christian, the stories are beautiful and it’s written in a manner that it can be used to teach children about this religion or as life lessons, as the stories explain about actions, consequences, good and bad things to do, etc.

I really enjoyed reading this bible myself and have put a hold on the first edition (as my library has this one in their possession) so that myself and my toddler can enjoy the stories as soon as it becomes available.

Great way as an adult to do a bible overview, but misses out anything that doesn't read as a story, so no new testament letters as such, no psalms and various other things, just focuses on stories. Fair enough I guess?!

Fick den av min församling när jag var 5 år men tror inte vi läste den så mycket. Tror den var för läskig. Dvs inte så bra som en första bibel men att läsa den nu uppskattade jag. En bra sammanfattning av det viktigaste i bibeln på ca 5h.

The lovely illustrations and simple narration in this adaptation of the Holy Bible, make it very endearing for children to read and co-relate. The biblical stories are perfect to be read out to little children and simple enough for them to understand.
