This book has wonderful resources and ideas for teaching all levels of students. It covers lesson planning, delivery, data analysis, creating a learning environment, and much more. I was a bit put off by the set up of the pages. There was big font with blocky sections that made it difficult to see when a new topic was starting and when a previous topic was being continued on the next page. There are many templates that can be downloaded from the online resources listed in the book. I marked a lot of the sections and put post-its on some pages to brainstorm ways to use the strategies.
This book has some good information as well as activities that can easily be modified to suit a variety of ages. Some of it is generic information that isn't really a revelation, but it's nice to have it all in one place. This book is the basis of the educational philosophy of my teaching program, and is the main textbook of one of my classes this semester. They focus on active engagement strategies and differentiated instruction, with an emphasis on getting all students to participate in some for or another during a lesson. It's useful but not ground breaking, and definitely not the only source from which I am drawing information.
