Defiance (World of Anthrax Book 4): A Post-Apocalyptic Zombie Survival Thriller Series
My world is turning into a living nightmare. My best friend has been murdered and turned into a zombie. I’ve fled what came way too close to a mad scientist’s lair for anyone’s good. I’ve stepped over the dead bodies of men, women, and children who I’ve risked my life for. Watched what little hope and security thousands of people have clung to for weeks go up in flames—and half of them even looking enthusiastic about it. And then the bastards killed another of my friends by turning her into an undead, super-strong monster—that I’ve had to stab to permanent death to prevent her from tearing apart helpless children. My right hand is still sticky with her cooling, congealing blood. Getting dragged off to God knows where kind of pales in comparison to that—but only so much. And all that happened since earlier this morning. I have no idea if I’ll still be alive come midnight—or if I even want to. We thought the zombie apocalypse would be the worst that could happen to us. Looks like we were wrong. When giving up isn’t an option, the only way out is through.

An exceptionally entertaining action packed run for survival through a zombie apocalypse.
Wow just wow. This Siri is getting more and more intense in every book. Surprise after surprise after surprise in this one all the way to the end. Kelly and her group of misfits have already lost many of their friends in cohorts another four of them are alone trying to survive. Read on and see what happens and what mischief and adventures they came upon this time. Extreme revelations will be found out in this book about a few of the characters and will surprise you or maybe befuddled you. Either way it is extraordinary and mind blowing how intense and entertaining and violent this particular post apocalyptic zombie run is. Redone and enjoy.

Thrilling and emotional ride!
I don’t usually write reviews, i always plan to and vouch to do better but I found myself having to write a review. This among one of my favorite series . Just read it , staring with book # 1!
I was intrigued by the plot twists and unexpected turns that the book takes towards the end. The character of Jared comes as a shocker, and you may find yourself justifying his actions like Callie, but not condoning them.
I also love the way the story unfolds, with the timing of events being perfect for the characters to survive. The cliffhanger leaves you wanting more .
Overall, I enjoyed the book, finding it thrilling and emotionally engaging. The twists and turns in the plot kept me on the edge of my seat, and the ending left me in awe.

August 12, 2024Up until now, the World of Anthrax series featured a very zoomed-in view of the first days of the end of the world. This book has reached a point where it can zoom out a bit, and it seems that’s exactly what the author decided to do. We learn Cally's secrets, and we learn how the good, normal people survived. The zombie action in this one isn't front and center anymore, but that’s okay.
Jered's sudden swing from tolerable ass to complete psycho came out of nowhere for me—so maybe our protagonist isn't that far off with her complete shock. And then there's the switching on of zombie mode. While I like the idea, this twist came so out of nowhere that I had to go back and see if I skipped something in my audiobook.
All in all, a good entry, but not as soul-clenching as the ones before.

My sweet crazy cinnamon roll Callie
I again am feeling certain ways about this. The last one I was devastated, this one I'm just pissed off. Can Callie literally never catch a damn break? The plot twists were brilliant and changed the entire freaking theme. But I am in the dark for how this can end in just one more book. I have a feeling that I'll feel a certain way about the last book too. But seriously can just one good thing happen to Callie? Just once? Also I miss my redhead.

I don’t even know where to start, these books have been the absolute best and worst thing to happen to me! Callie and Jared are my favourite morally grey characters that exist. Every time I think I’m close to figuring out the plot in one of these books, the complete opposite happens and my little squirrel brain cannot comprehend🤣 Adrienne I adore you and can’t wait to see what that crazy brain of yours brings us next! (P.s Blake I would happily marry you)

Uggggg. Have I mentioned before that cliffhangers made me want to poke my eyes out?! What a great story. Fast paced, action packed and making me constantly second guess myself and characters’ action. What a ride. I can’t wait to read book 5 in this well written, psychological mind-f*** series!

Wow ! Defiance, a fantastic 4th book in this series. Did not see that coming at all, a complete surprise. Ms Lecter is an amazing author, grabbing you right from the start to an explosive ending. So many thoughts in my head and I can't stop thinking about it days later. Very very excited to read the next book.

Man…the stuff Callie finds herself in!! Am I disappointed and upset that we FINALLY know the real Jared? No…I have a feeling he will be exactly who and what Callie needs to come to terms with the cliff hanger of ALL cliffhangers!! Man Adrienne has a mind out of this world!! Read it!!

An absolutely brilliant book. I can't say I love Callie she is a constant nark and I certainly don't think much of Jared or Blake, I do like Axle more maybe because he's older. Sometimes the characters make the story work although not for this series. It's an incredible ending to finish the book with and get the last book downloaded.

Absolutely Loving This Series!!!
I absolutely love this series, all the characters are well written and the world building is off the charts. What this author can do with a premise is extraordinary. Nothing I think is gonna happen in each book happens - every book is an experience in surprise. Other authors who write in this genre should take note.

Callies history is pretty scary.
We finally find out what !Alex Callie tick. Impressive history as her childhood would be enough b to warp anyone. But she is a survivor. The closing of the book is frightening on so many levels. You be the judge.

I don't know why I enjoy these books so much. I think it's the audiobook author who makes it the most fun. This is a very niche book series. I think you will either love it or hate it. Fans of the Walking Dead will have fun on this adventure.

Oh no! What twists and turns await the reader in this book! Can’t believe how much one of our main characters has been manipulating another, a real cliffhanger ending.
