I loved this story!
This is the fourth in the Legend paranormal fantasy romance series. One Fae traitor is out of the Fae realm but another is still hiding, while in the earthly realm an unlikely warrior is training and bent on revenge and justice while being babysat by a royal Fae and the human population is being preyed upon by low level monsters having no idea there are bigger and badder monsters just waiting for the traitors to succeed with their plans.

I also love the fact that the Prologue is a detailed description of the beings in this story told from the female lead's point of view.
Great prologue beginning:
"You will need to know what danger is out there, and what that danger means to you.
The problem is—most of you don’t stand much of a chance.
How can you fight what you can’t even see? I can’t think of anything more terrifying than something coming at you full speed with death written all over it—and you can’t even detect it until it is too late."

"UNSEELIE! There is no other way to describe these creatures of the dark. They enjoy killing, maiming, and slaughtering. It relieves the agony of their pain."
Danté, Seelie Prince of Lugh (a royal houses of the Tuatha Dé) and self-proclaimed best looking of all the males in his family, is so not a happy camper when the Seelie Queen gives him a new mission - she says it is to watch over and teach Z because she "lacks direction, finesse, and diplomacy" as well as protection; all of which Dante can help with. He thinks it might as well be babysitting a savage child even though she is both "Daoine princess and human high Druid priestess". He was emotionally hurt on his last mission where he was supposed to only watch and listen to a human female, but as Fae princes are wont to do, he let himself get involved and got his heart broken when she chose another.
"I will keep her at a distance. I will keep her out of my head. I will not want her in my arms or my bed. This time … I won’t let a female human take my essence and throw it to the winds … I won’t let another do that to me …"
Yeah Dante, you just keep telling yourself that. {wink, wink} He also provides a little comedic relief for the story.

When Z meets Dante for the first time she is "taken aback. He was huge, well over six something, and his strong, muscular body spelled out top-notch male. His long, light auburn hair was streaked with gold and tied with a leather string at the nape of his neck (and what a neck)." She thinks he is "the most scrumptious eye candy [she has] ever seen." But they are snarking at each other from the minute she opens her mouth for the first time. They do adore taunting each other.

Her new neighbor is another "hotty" and apparently he wants to romance her and she doesn't have time for any of that. Dante gets irritated when she allows Aaron to kiss her fingertips. But what is Aaron hiding?

Enter Chancemont and his father who looks like he could be his brother, another set of eye-candy and warriors to boot but not all human but not Fae either. They fight some Unsellie together and he basically tells her he'll be finding her again to "friend her" and she has the distinct feeling this means a lot more than friendship. He lightly kisses her before disappearing. Could they be immortals?

For those familiar with the series, Gaiscioch has a major role in this tale. But as is usual with this author, this is a stand alone story so not having read the previous books in the series is not a hindrance. But I'm glad I was able to read book one, Spellbound - Legend , first so I had all the background.

There is so much chemistry between Z and Dante and Chancemont just oozes sex appeal.

I am chomping at the bit to read the second and third books in this series.

Another amazing addition to Claudy's fae series. I enjoyed the heroine in this particular book. I am not really able to pin point what it is about her. She is young, impulsive, and seems to be great at making really silly decisions, yet I felt connected to her. I read this back to back with Catch and Hold (the last book of the series) and did not do a review in-between because, frankly, I have no self control and I "needed" to know what happens next. Please check out my review for Catch and Hold. It will be more detailed. I am afraid I will divulge too many spoilers if I try to separate them. Lesson learned. from now on I will read one, then review, then read the next.

If I were a cat, I would be hissing and spitting right now. I have just finished reading Claudy Conn's "Free Falling - Legend."

Readers, I have two words for you . . . spontaneous combustion -heck, have another, explosive! And another, AAAAAH! Well, maybe that isn't a word exactly, but it's what I'm feeling.
For those of you following the Legend series be warned. HOLD ON TIGHT! The series has reached a boiling point and "Free Falling" is all action.

Claudy starts by throwing two of the most frustratingly stubborn beings in the universe together. You know it is going to be a love-lust match from the beginning. I mean, how can it BE anything but, when they are coming together with so much personal baggage?!

Radzia MacDaun, Z, is young, impetuous, sexy, rash, proud, and deeply wounded by the murder of her father, a Druid priest; and the loss of her mother, a Daoine princess, who lies comatose in grief. Radzia, a rare mixture of Fae and human, is consumed with a blood lust for revenge on her father's murderer, the Fae traitor, Gaiscioch.

Enter Danté, Prince of Lugh, with all the cool, arrogant self-assurance, and wounded pride of a Faery lord who has recently had his amorous attentions rejected. He is a big, proud warrior, with a thousand years of experience over Radzia; and he is pissed that his queen is sticking him with babysitting Z's youthful energies. Danté thinks he is above the job, while his talents and energies are needed to fight a war. Radzia thinks of him as a pompous, overconfident, overbearing, royal pain in the . . . not asset. For her, this is a personal battle. She is young and doesn't feel any of the obligatory loyalty about following orders coming from her queen. She just goes with her gut, flying on instinct, and Danté isn't part of her plans. Neither of them have time for romance nor do they see anything in the other, but an obstacle to their individual goals.

Claudy has placed these two and their romance in the midst of the rising storm. The moment has come for a final conflict between the forces of light and darkness. Queen Aaibhe's pieces are moving into position for the final test and yet, everything that can go wrong is about to as Radzia leaps into action time and again without her hero at her side.

This is one hell of a roller coaster. "Free Falling" keeps you on the edge and leaves you hanging from its stormy start to catapulting finish. When you get to the end of this ride you are going to look around a little disoriented and stumble to get in line for the next. You won't be able to leave the amusement park. I am almost scared to open my eyes and look for what is to come. I have no doubt that before Claudy ends the series; she is going to take us up, around, and upside down. When she finally lets us get off, we are going to be so sore! Thankfully, it will be Claudy's kind of sore, which is all good. Are you ready for it?

Free Falling by Claudy Conn
Legend Series Book 4
Radzia MacDaun, known as Z, is both human and Daoine Princess and plays a big part in the coming war. There is a prophesy and she is a star player and she plans on killing the man who killed her father, a Druid priest, in cold blood. Gaiscoich. Her mother goes back to Daoine as she continues to grieve so Queen Aaibhe sends one of her princes to watch over Radzia to keep her safe and help bring out her Daoine gifts since she has been living as a human more than a Fae.

Prince Dante of Lugh learned his lesson about getting involved with his assignments. He was still a bit bitter over the last one where BJ chose a human over him. Over him, Prince Dante of Lugh! He has his hands full this time. Z never stays put and trouble seems to find her. And even as this seventy thousand year old prince tries to ignore the young brat….he once again finds himself more hands on with his assignment than planned.

The Seelie and Unseelie war is getting even closer. More of the Unseelie abominations have been let out of the Dark Realm and into the human world. Our heroes and heroines are gathering together to fight against them along with a few new characters as well. Unlike the previous books in this series….Free Falling leaves us hanging in the dark. It's okay though….Catch & Hold is already out there waiting to tell you the rest of the story.

My thoughts:
Both characters are easy to fall in love with. Z with her easy going noble personality and Dante the prince who has the patience of a saint. I can say these characters were comical to read about at certain points. The story will leave you hair pulling/tugging and nerve wracked by the end. And finally THE battle starts, THE BATTLE!

The Review:
So we got Z a girl with lots of attitude, add prince Dante and we have a thing called disaster at first site. From the start of the book both characters fight each other in some way (notice I say more than one, eh eh.) Until finally a nice little romance brews between them. For the first time in the series leaves you at a dreaded thing called a cliff hanger. Of course that means we get to read more about Z and Dante.
Free Falling never has a dull moment. When things appeared quiet, well they didn’t stay that way for long. We got some lovely descriptions of the battles/fights nice a goo filled. The battle finally starts and that’s all I have to say.

Loved it!! 4th book in the Legend Series and this is my favorite one. I absolutely fell in love with the main characters the Light Fae, Dante, Prince of Lugh and Radzia MacDaun or Z, who is a half Fae Daione Princess and human. There is a war going on between the Light Fae and the Dark Fae, who are trying to enter the world of man and take control. Dante is assigned to Radzia to teach her how to obtain her Fae powers. Did I mention he doesn't think much of humans, until he meets her. What ensues in his dealing with a present day "human" and his antiquated thinking amongst the danger of the war and their enemies is quite funny and entertaining. I found myself laughing out loud many a time. Z's trip to the Dark World leaves you on the edge of your seat and holding your breath. The base story is just wonderful and a different look at the world of the Fae and man. Claudy Conn is an exceptional writer and includes a lot of the history in her storylines which keep it real and interesting. I will definitely be re-reading this series and recommend it highly.

TBR 374 .... just realized that I can hover over the new 'want to read' button it show me what number it is - Yay!!!

Z is a Daoine princess and Dante has been assigned to 'babysit' her...
At first, he hates this mission that his queen has assigned him, but that changes.

Z is half human but the Fae part of her is stronger and she has been changing ever since her father was killed...

What a cliff hanger!!

Got to go people!!! Reading the next book!!

The beginning starts off with a brief description about the background into the Legend world. I really love how she does this.

Absolutely amazing! We are introduced to more interesting characters in this book. We go deeper into the Legend world in this book. We get lots of action, suspense, and erotic love scenes with scorching passion.

I was whopping and pumping my fist in the air… Z and Dante were hilarious with their bantering back n forth. They had so much chemistry between them causing some explosive passion that was hot hot hot!

Loved the Scotland and Ireland backdrops its so magical making the story more believable. Even the enemies are fascinatingly gruesome creatures.

Oh My Gosh, Dante is amazing! I fell in love with him right away. He melted my heart with the things he did in this book. (Don’t want to put in spoils)

But really like OMG the ending was WOW!

I don't know if words can describe just how much I enjoyed this book. From the beginning all the way until the end, I was absolutely captivated. Claudy is such an amazing writer, that you find yourself so easily pulled into the story, unable to leave. I swear if it were possible to move to Tir, I would buy the first ticket!!

I loved to see the progression of the storyline and the characters. Just when you think you have a favorite character, you get introduced to more that you find yourself loving, just as much, if not more. I've already purchased the next book "Catch & Hold - Legend" and I'm so excited to see where the story takes me.

This is definitely a series that I will re-read over and over again. Thank you Claudy for another amazing book!!

Book 4 in the Legend series, Z and Dante. Dante doesn't really like humans. He doesn't understand them, yet tiny Z manages to get under his skin and capture more than just his interests!

Amazing read from Claudy Conn! Wish the books were a bit longer but still love her works!

I'll put more thoughts in later, but... glad that Dante finally found his love. Interesting that Breslyn was so concerned about Ete being "young", and yet Dante's not that concerned with his love being so much younger. The "enfant" title is kinda weird, although I understand it's an endearment that came from a slam; accurate, but kinda weird when applied to a love interest. I guess it's like Jamie Fraser calling Claire "Sassenach" and that sticking as his term of love and endearment for her.

Anyway... much to like about this book. Interesting how most of the characters from the series are finally weaving together. Liking more info about the Daoine.

BUT, this prophecy seems to have come from nowhere - last minute kinda thing. Not liking that. If there was a prophecy in place, we should have at least had a hint of it before now.

Her father is killed by a Dark Fae Demon while performing a ritual of beltaine with Nuid one of the Queens Trackers and her mother was taken away by family as she has lost her mind and living in illusion. Z has vowed to get revenge against Gaiscioch the light fae turned dark. Z has alot of power as she is not only Fae but a High Royal Fae and also human but a High Druid Priestess. Then we have her neighbor Aaron Dunbar and then we have yet another man enter Z's life Chancemont and Dante is not happy at all about this one . Fantastic book. This book is the continuation from Trapped-Legend. Dante is still reeling from his miss at true love and BJ's rejection. Now there's a new lady. Very young but very powerful in character and birthright. Her name is Z. She tries his patience and gives him hope. Love triumphs!

The book has a cliffhanger for one. Another complaint is that the book could use a little editing to polish it up. It isn't the grammar that needs editing, rather the flow and a depth of plot to improve this one. I like the idea of the plot with all the danger, strife, and character development. I just expect more.

This is a intense exciting read about a young woman who lost the important people in her life. Her father was murdered by the traitor Gais and her mom has not figured out how to handle this so she has shut herself off from reality. Radzia's way of handling her grief is anger. She is trying to get herself ready to kill Gais. The Queen of the Fae is positive that she is necessary in the coming war with Gaiscioch. Because of this Prince Dante` has been given the job of keeping her safe...good luck. This story ended in a cliffhanger so I'm going to find out what happened to Radzia. Enjoy I did. This is a re-read.

While I am enjoying this series, I thought this book has too much rehashing of the Gais background story, when 3 characters retold the Gais betrayal. . The story does follow a similar character pattern as shown in the first 3 books. There are new developments involving the upcoming war & the Queen is impressive as usual. The cliff hanger at the end is great. That ensures I will continue on in the series.

Writing was pretty good, but so many parts dragged far too much. I found myself skipping past pages just to get back to the plot (and not endless elaboration). The ending is abrupt and I suppose there will be another follow up book? This big build up and then, oh, that's the end?

Overall, not bad, but not great.

Really enjoyed this book it gave the entire story a twist but really did not like the ending of the story. I do not like having to wait to get to the end of a story and yet i am sure if i go ahead and read the last story of the legend i will get my answers but not the whole story. I am the type if it has a 2nd or 3rd part i generally wait till all the parts are the shelf so i can read it through.

This is my favorite book in the Legend Series to date. I completely fell in love with Z and Dante! Z is completely different than the previous female lead characters in the earlier books. She is no damsel in distress and for that I thank you. Great job Claudy!!!
