The introduction of this book had rendered me to awe when I had first read it. Anything mentioning Percy would probably do this to me. Needless to say, the rest of the book did not meet any of my expectations. It was rather foolish of my expectations to include instructions on how to write an Ode like Shelley or Keats. There are many different types of writing in this book which makes this a good introductory guide.
The best section of this book was probably the different types of fiction. I found that I gained the most information out of this section alone. I’m not into writing columns or news reports which is why the other sections of the book were useless to me.
I wish they had a poetry section, but I suspect that I shall have to search elsewhere for tip on poetry. Indeed, I’ve already started looking into other 19th century works attempting to define art. Overall this was a useless read other than its fiction section.
