With an engaging enthusiasm for the music and play of language, Molly Tenenbaum writes poems of stark originality. A poet informed by a lifetime dedication to music, Tenenbaum possesses a technical brilliance that illuminates the beauties and mysteries of life and the natural world. Full of striking images, unexpected juxtapositions, and inventive lyricism, these poems compel us to attend to the details of the world and what is sacred in it.

I appreciated the technique in these poems, but I didn't actually enjoy reading the book. Four points for technique; three for content.

Tenenbaum has the poet's gift of juxtaposing unusual senses and nouns and impressions into visual images. My favorite in this collection was the title poem, "By a Thread," and "Paradise Practice."
