Ideal for anyone looking for a daily devotional to learn more about Jesus and grow closer to him. These 365 daily readings present the life of Christ in chronological order with selections from the four Gospels. Also included for each day are a Life Application note to provide insight and encouragement, and an information note to provide interesting background and helpful explanations. Another great book in the convenient and popular One Year format!
I have a passion for helping writers understand and navigate the publishing world. After spending over four decades in Christian publishing, I brought all I learned on that job into the Professional Writing major at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, where I am assistant professor. Here I have the privilege of teaching my students to be strong writers and communicators and then how to get their words out into the world. Publishing is a process, and writers need to understand how that process works. That’s where I come in.
And that’s why I have written my most recent book. Pathway to Publication arrives in March 2023 with everything writers need to know about getting published.
Besides my life as a teacher and editor, I am a wife, mom, grandma, reader (I enjoy nonfiction and memoirs mostly), Christian, dog and cat lover, and a transplant from the suburbs of Chicago to a small country town.
I am a proud Air Force brat who had the privilege of growing up in many places in the United States and completing my high school years in Bonn, Germany. I have a B.A. in English and Writing from Houghton University, Houghton, NY (1980), an M.A. in English from Ball State University, Muncie, IN (2013), and an M.F.A in Creative Writing (Creative Nonfiction) from Ashland University, Ashland, OH (2017).
I coordinate a Christian writers’ conference held in the summers at Taylor University. Check taylorwritingconference.com.

Okay, I admit that I started this book at the beginning of January, 2011, with the intention of reading one devotion every day for the entire year. Didn't succeed. Book got put aside. Ended up on my bookshelf, where I came across it again a month or so ago. Noticed that the book mark was still in "July". Decided that I should finish this, but since the "one devotion a day" route didn't work for me, I just decided to read it when I wanted to, and read as many days of devotions as I wanted to. That worked better for me.
So it took me 3 1/2 years to finish a one year book. Oh well. The devotions are nice, all focusing chronologically on the New Testament life of Jesus. They are easy to read, and focus on the Gospel events, with commentary and scripture reference. An enjoyable read, that I will keep on my shelf. I just won't make myself ever read it on the book's schedule!
Started this book about the first of February, and want to finish at least one more daily devotional about the life of Jesus. I really like the format of this book of devotions, and I like the NLT for a devotional book.
