All Jeanette Sanders wanted to do was escape her past and forget everything that has happened. Coming to Greyford was supposed to be her new beginning, a clean slate. Only it seems like her past doesn’t want to let her go. As her old insecurities start to return in full force and lies grow bigger than ever, the only thing left is the hope that her broken heart will survive this time around.
Andrew Hill has been betrayed one too many times in the past. Cynical and cold-hearted, he closed off his heart for good and doesn’t plan on letting anybody in ever again. Especially women. But his heart doesn’t seem to care and starts beating faster every time a particular black-haired beauty gets in his way and puts him in his place.
He wants her body, not her heart. She tries to resist him, but the pull is too much.
They know they’re all wrong for each other, but some habits are too sweet to give up.

“Not so quickly, Princess,” he whispers against my ear, his warm breath sending goosebumps down my skin as the smell of pines and wood surrounds me. “I think we have some unresolved business.” “Kidnapping will not get you what you want, Hill,” I spat, trying to get out of his hold, but no matter what I do or how hard I try to resist him, I can’t get him off of me. “Tsk …” Andrew shakes his head playfully, his nose rubbing against my exposed neck. “Such harsh words. I’m simply borrowing you for a bit. You’re a hard person to track these days, Jeanette.” “Maybe that’s because I don’t want to be found. Ever thought of that?” Andrew lifts his gaze, his green eyes easily finding mine even in the dark classroom. “It didn’t cross my mind.” His fingers brush against a strand of my hair, pushing it behind my ear. “I like what you did with your hair.” I shudder at his touch; my eyes fall closed for a second as I bite into my lip to stop myself from saying anything. Stop myself from uttering a sound. “Eyes on me, Princess.” These words. These damn words throw me back to that night. The night I try to forget with everything I have in me. The night I keep dreaming about night after night. Eyes on me, Princess.
"Such a perfect, steamy read!! The characters aren't perfect. In fact, they have imperfections that smack you right in the face while reading but that's what I loved about this story! " - S.J. Sylvis, Author
This is my favourite book I’ve read this month. It's amazing and even better than the first.
From the start to finish I simply couldn't put down the story. I love the storyline in the beginning. Jeanette and Andrew have their ups and downs. They both have secrets, they both have darkness inside of them. And they have to face the darkness of their own lives to continue on. I liked both character. Andrew was arrogant and Jeanette was distrustful. To be honest, I didn't like very much Andrew in first book because he was unfriendly and shameless. When I read his story I quickly change my mind. Jeanette was mysteriously girl. I want to know more about her. She was specially girl and had a lot of secrets which made it difficult to get close to people. But they fall in love. They found each other and their happiness.
It was a great book. Another brilliant work by Anna B. Doe. Can’t wait the next one!
I was kindly provided with an ARC by the author in exchange for honest review.
Move over Amelia and Derek. You have now been replaced. Jeanette and Andrew, are hands down, my new favorite couple in the series. ♥
The two of them are so lost, broken and misunderstood. Both of them put on a facade, trying to conceal their true identities from their deep-seated insecurities. Neither of them are truly happy and living except for when they are together. The banter between them was snarky & sexy, and their desire for each other shined so bright. They were absolutely perfectly imperfect for one another.
Habits was so brilliantly written and had me completely captivated from the get go. This series is my first foray into this author's work and I am now 100% hooked. The way she weaves these tales full of emotion, humor and heat is the exact sort of addiction that I crave and is guaranteed to keep me coming back for more. If you haven't started on this series yet... What are you waiting for? Now is the time.
Anna B Doe told such an important story with Habits. Everyone suffers from insecurities but what makes us beautiful is how unique we all are.
I applaud Anna for writing about very real situations and portraying the life and struggles that are real for people every single day.
Drew and Jeanette were both two beautifully broken people. Issues from their past have massively effected them, stopping them from moving on with their futures. Even though they are both broken, when they are together and their passion ignites, they glue each other’s broken pieces back together for a short while.
Can they face their demons and calm their insecurities enough to be together and it not be toxic?
✨✨✨Jeanette story is something we all should keep reading about, and be thankful for all this authors that keep writing about it. I have nothing else to say , this book speaks for itself . you should really read it . I gave it 4.95 stars.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I would first like to say THANK YOU to this author not only for sending me this book but being so patient when I couldn’t figure out how to get it on my kindle I literally felt so bad but she was so nice and patient sooo yea!! Anyways.. this. Book. Ruined me😭 holy shitaki mushrooms guys for real I honestly love Jeanette and Andrew more than any other couple I have read about in a LONG time.. not a word of a lie. They were awesome and I kind of already loved Jeanette in Lines but didn’t really like Andrew but in this book I loved how you got to be inside both of their heads and see their point of view and then I went back and thought about how they were in Lines and their actions made SO MUCH SENSE and I fell in love so fast omg😭❤️ I told the author that I was going to cry when it was over... I’m not even ashamed to admit I did.. I cried like a freaking baby but it was so worth it😍❤️
“A habit. She's become another one of my bad, bad habits, and I don't want to give it up. I don't want to give her up.” 💜
This is my second book by Anna and I'm in love with her writing style. This one I read slower than the first book and don't think for a second its because the book is boring or something like that. No, it's just that I prefer Derek and Lia as a couple and for me their story was funnier and more interesting.
We first met Andrew and Jeanette in Lines, first book in Greyford High Series.
To be honest, at first I didn't like Andrew very much in first book because his behavior to Amelia and other girls. Just like Anette says, he is an asshole, but deep inside he is just a broken boy who wants to be loved and he made me love him in this book.
On the other side I liked Anette in Lines and I knew that behind Ice Queen is hiding one insecure girl whit painful past. She needed someone to show her how beautiful she is and that she deserved to be loved. I'm glad that, that someone is Andrew and that they cured each other.
I really enjoyed reading Habits and now I can't wait for third book and Brook & Max's story. I looove Max. 💜
"Eyes on me, Princess." I fell so hard for this book and these characters! This is a beautiful story that was beautifully written. Both Andrew and Jeanette were introduced in Lines. Andrew is the alpha asshole that every girl wants but he is a one and done kind of guy. Jeanette is cold to anyone and everyone and doesn't allow anyone past her frozen walls. In Habits, we learn more about what makes them act the way they do. Both of these two are stubborn and they are both broken. They are holding onto a world of hurt all by themselves because of the choices they made. They are afraid to take risks because of their pasts. These two are so frustrating at times and so delicate in other times. One minute I want to hug them and the next I want to strangle them. They both have such strong personalities. One of the things I like about this series is the distinction between the characters. The couples are not carbon copies from book to book. They each have their own personalities, their quirks, and the stories follow suit. If you love young adult romance, you NEED to read this book!
I loved this book!! Jeanette and Andrew both have serious issues in their lives, and the author handled it beautifully. This was poignant, and from the heart you can tell. We see Derek and Amelia from the first book "Lines" and it was great to see how they were doing. The consistency of writing in this book was great, and the story line very relatable and of the time. Told with a depth of feelings, the characters wade through life one day at a time. The chemistry and sparks between the two was off the charts. We see the whole story from both points of view, and you really get into the heads of the characters. This is for sure a mature YA book, I would say no one under 17. To be safe 18+ is more apt. Depending on the level of maturity. There is swearing, sex, and drug use. So just use your judgement. I couldn't get enough, but I am also old.LOL Take it for what it's worth, but this is a definite read.
I was skeptical about these characters going into this book, but Anna turned their story into an amazing, emotional journey of self worth, healing, and growth.
Andrew is the guy everyone loves to hate, and he uses that as his shield. Why let down your guard when your'e only going to get hurt anyways.
Jeanette has a lot of anger, resentment, and fear that guides her life. She is skeptical of everyone and doesn't want to get close to anyone.
These two have an undeniable attraction that burns so bright that it cannot be ignored no matter how hard they try. The more they get under each other's skin and annoy each other, the more they can't seem to stay away. It is so combustible that you are just waiting for it to go up in flames.
The heartbreak and healing was such an amazing message, and made me fall in love with these characters that much more. Through the demons and the hurt, they found a way to survive and come out stronger.
This is the second book in the series, and I think I know what book 3 is going to be about. The scenes that played out in this book hinted about it, and I am so excited. If my predictions are correct, then these two characters are going to be in for a whirlwind!

Habits by Anna B. Doe is the second book in the Greyford High Series and the second book of this authors I have read and falling hard for.
"We, Princess, we’re going to be perfect.”
I knew after reading the first book in the series, Lines, and when this blurb released that this book would be an emotional and exciting read, as well as a step up from the previous book. We are told the story of why Andrew Hill and Jeannette Sanders are the way they are. One hot and playboy, hockey hero, one beautiful and strong, sassy heroine. Both characters with an emotional story they both try to keep hidden from everyone. Their strong dislike for one another come head to head, and inevitably crash into one addicting story, full of chemistry you can't deny, and an epic angst filled read.
“You, Andrew Hill, are the worst habit I could have chosen, but the one I don’t plan to give up. I love you.”
I throughly enjoyed Habits and the young love story of these two amazing characters. They're so easy to connect with, and you are taken back into the high school life and drama (scary to think, I know. But living it through this book is addictive). Lines and now Habits too, are my two favourite YA Romances, and I would highly reccomend this series to anyone looking for a YA, full of well developed teen characters and a captivating story that has been written beautifully.

Habits is book two in the Greyford High series. It can be read as a standalone. This one is Jeanette and Andrew's story. I read the first one Lines, in that one Jeanette wasn't one of my favorite characters. In this one we really get to see who Jeanette is. I warmed up to her and really wanted to know her story. Andrew on the surface comes off at a rich spoiled kid but there is so much more to him. He surprised me. Jeanette and Andrew have great chemistry together. They are frustrating characters at points but they work well together.
Oh boy, do I love damaged characters with a past! Revealing their secrets a layer at a time, searching for redeemable facets to their persona and wanting them to heal is a serious weakness of mine.
The author really delivers the goods with this book. The way Jeanette and Andrew circle each other, their sarcastic and witty banter, leading to their inevitable explosive relationship is brilliant to read. Neither wanting to let the other get too close; but being kindred spirits, it’s a given that they’ll end up falling for each other.
The twists and turns in the story kept me hooked until the very last word
Andrew and Jeanette’s story was so good it’s full of passion angst and emotion that we love from Anna’s writing the chemistry and the connection between these two was chefs kiss ! Another five star must read from the Greyford High series! Writing is excellent characters are amazing don’t miss this story!
This book was everything I was hoping for and SO MUCH MORE! Jeanette and Andrew both had me wanting to know more about them from Lines, the first book in this series.
“His eyes always have this gleam in them. I’ve heard what people say. They call it mischievous, but I know better. I can see behind it. I can see his darkness. Because it matches my own.”
Jeanette and Andrew are both broken and troubled, and both think that they are broken beyond repair, and that nothing good could possibly come from them being together. Or could it?..Hmmmmmm!!
“I’m so good at forming bad habits, and Andrew Hill? He’ll be the worst habit of them all.”
I really loved the entire story. The drama, the steam factor and the chemistry and connection between the two of them was just great. Hot. Hot. Hot!!
If you loved Lines, then you will without a doubt love Habits!!
Unfortunately, this book somewhat disappointed me. I did not feel the wow factor and two for for some triggers that I wish the author had included.
First off, the characters Jeannette and Andrew held a lot of promise. When I read the first book, the characters really intrigued me and I was really excited for their story. But, what I got was not real romance, just a lot of sex scenes that were way too mature for YA, and this book should have been clearly labeled as NA.
The romance between Jeannette and Andrew just wasn’t there. Their chemistry just got lost. Instead, I felt that there was too much tugging and pulling that it got frustrating. And, the demons each person fights, I felt that it did not make the plot stronger, but weaker. The only thing I was convinced was that these two characters are better at hooking up than being actually in love.
Despite the romance being a downer, the thing that earned this book some brownie points was the fact that it dealt with some really though issues. The author did not shy away from them. That being said, I think the issues of family, self image and stuff could have been dealt in a bit of more showing than telling. The self destructive behavior the characters had could have been explained if the issues were just much more explicitly said in the book.
Lastly, I think this book could have been done a lot better. The flash backs and writing style didn’t really suit me. I think that if there was something alarming rather than a bunch of distruving stuff, then I would have liked the book better. And also, I kind of wish there was a trigger warning. If you have read the book, you will know that what Jeannette has can be a trigger for a few, as I have suffered from that illness myself I wish that there was a author’s note.
Despite this, I think this book held potential. It’s more a me than you. I think peeps will like this book, it’s just that I wasn’t the right person.
This YA/NA romance just blew me away. Habits isn’t your typical high school romance as this author creates complex characters with depth and dives into difficult, real life situations.
Andrew is on the same hockey team as Jeanette’s twin. He is an arrogant playboy who never settles with one girl. Jeanette, dubbed the ice queen, seems closed off. Both characters experienced something in their pasts that greatly affected how they approach relationships and both battle with insecurity - things that made my heart hurt for them. The two seem like an unlikely couple, but they are both beautifully damaged. Can two broken people help glue the broken pieces back together or will they be further shattered?
Habits sucked me right in and I found myself unable to put the book down. I loved Jeanette and Andrew. The author did an amazing job tackling issues with great sensitivity. I enjoyed watching the two mature as young adults as well as seeing their relationship evolve. I also really liked Brook, Lia, Derek, and Max. They all are great friends that I would like to have in my corner. One things that I would have liked is a bit longer epilogue - a little more into the future after they get their HEA. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. I received this book for free.
Habits is the second book in Anna B. Doe's Greyford High series; it is also the 4th-ish book I have read by this author so I am not sure why I am so surprised with how much I loved this book. Once again she has brought us back to high school and have us dealing with...well, high school problems. However, it is done in a way the issues are real life issues and not petty high school BS. Andrew and Annette are deep characters who have more walls surrounding them than a military base. These walls are in place for a reason and those reasons are why I devoured this book in one sitting and it is currently my favorite book by this author.
Both Annette and Andrew are a bit broken and have closed themselves off to others. Neither of them are willing to take the chance, given their pasts, but for some reason the two of them keep slipping through the others walls. Will either of them survive the fall out though?
The only thing that I would have liked to see is what happened next for Andrew and his parents... still some unanswered questions there but even still, it was an amazing book that I loved. I can not wait until the next book!
Jeanette and Andrew had chemistry that couldn't be denied and a deeper connection that no one but two completely broken people could understand. They were so different yet so similar. The darkness that consumed each of them could only be recognized by someone who was drowning in the same feelings.
Andrew was an affluent, athletic, playboy who never let a female get too close to him for more than a steamy night. Coming from a broken family, he found solace in hockey and his friends. He was spending much of his time battling his inner demons and losing. Something had to give before he completely self destructed.
Anette was running from her past and unfortunately her family was paying the price. She'd vowed to do right by them and never get close to anyone in her new town and new school. She cared more about her twin brother Max than herself. She put everyone else first, even if it left her shattered and alone. No one would find out what she was battling, until she opened up and confided in the one person she knew she shouldn't have.
This book went in a direction I'd never expected and had me feeling things I didn't anticipate. What a whirlwind of emotions packed into the pages of this read! So much hurt, deception, courage, trust, betrayal and vulnerability!
I absolutely loved this book and how emotional it was but also how freaking steamy the passion between the two main characters got! It was a constant push and pull between these two. I adored the little tidbits of Derek and Lia's relationship and couldn't get enough of sidekick Brook. Anna did an incredible job with the second book in the series. I can't wait to read more of the Greyford High crew!
There is something so delicious about reading about young love or even the lack of love. This is my second read of this author and while some of the things in her books shock the crap out of me and some hurt deep in old wounds, I’m loving it! This series and the emotionally damaged kids with their piece of shit families are crazy full of drama. Everything you could ever want in a book!!
Oh Jeanette is a feisty one that has quickly become my favorite of the group so far! You could feel the brokenness inside her flowing out onto each page. I felt so many different emotions just with Jeanette that I couldn’t help but cry, you guys know I’m emotional. This young woman whose soon to start her life outside of high school but is completely broken mess but decides to put everyone’s feelings before hers. (That part is like my life right this second.) I wanted to keep reading and reading because I needed to know the end of the story, I had to find out what was going on with her.
I didn’t think I would really like Andrew because in the first book he was a big dickbag and I knew he would be an asshole in this one too. What I didn’t expect was to be greeted by a completely different Andrew with certain people. I quickly fell hard for him and didn’t even care to look back.
I love this series and I’m nervous it’s coming to an end. Anna did an amazing job with this book and left me speechless at times! My heart feels each and every thing in this book and couldn’t put it down! Great job! 💜
I was so excited for Jeanette and Andrew’s story and Anna did not disappoint! From the first book, I knew that Andrew’s home life was not the best although he puts on a good front and that something happened to Jeanette to both spark her attitude and the move, and my questions were answered. While the attraction is obvious between the two, it seemed that Jeanette was in denial while Andrew was actually looking to give it a shot. I enjoyed that the book was able to show the journey of the two as a couple as well as their pasts and what brought them to be the people they became. In addition, I also liked that Anna included how they moved forward after the catalyst moment in the book. I definitely liked this story better than the first in the series, but ultimately I’m really anticipating Brook’s story and cannot wait to get my questions and concerns answered that were introduced in the first book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Two beautifully broken people get together and bring each other what the other didn't know was missing. At first you probably won't like Andrew, he's your typical jock and can be a super jerk. But as you get further into the story, you get to see what's beneath the facade. Jeanette is skeptical and doesn't trust easily. She has a painful past, this obviously has molded her into the person she has become. When Andrew and Jeanette are together, they make each other better. their chemistry is insanely undeniable. This book was well written, especially for the subject matters that is mentioned. It was one my favorite books by this author. Can't wait to read the next one
This one is about enemies to lovers, hook up to love, high school romance. Andrew and Jeanette, both are with some dark past and are dealing with their own demons. They have always been at each other's throat and can't resist the apparent sexual attraction between them. I always love the books where boy falls first and this book is it. It is so sweet watching Andrew fall for Jeanette when he is always ready to burn the world but with her he is a completely new person. You get more perspective into their story if you continue with the next book in series. I have become fan of Anna B Doe. She writes exceptionally.
This book smashed it out of the park i loved it . This book is written so beautifully and maturely the you forget that it is a YA set in highschool. Jeanette and adam are the perfect match but you would never put them together. Jeanette is the beautiful self contained ice queen with an attitude. Adam is the hunky asshole playboy rich kid. Yet they are both beautifully broken and it is that hidden darkness inside that calls to them to each other. They push and pull throughout the book, hooking up then running away all whilst fighting their own demonds. They both have hidden hurts in their past that you learn throughout the book. They become each others bad habit and use each other to feel whole again that is until it becomes too much and they are forced to part. There is new trauma that forces both to deal with their old traumas. They have to do this if they wish to be with each other. They change and grow over the book like a rollercoaster with both ups and downs. However the writing is so good you feel like you go on the journey with them. It feels like real life rather than a book. There is a moment before they get there HEA that you will need a tissue i did. In the end it works out and they end up together and whole but boy do they have to earn it. I adored this story you should one click right away.
OMG I loved this book!!! So much drama!! I’m confused only 2 people took the pregnancy test Brook and Annette. And one of the pregnancy test was positive which means... Brook has to be pregnant right!!! Because at the hospital after Annette’s accident she was worried about the baby and it turns out according to the blood tests she’s not pregnant!!! Ohhh my oh my Brook has to be pregnant! I can’t wait for the third book!!!!!!
