The author was not only a great explorer and adventurer, but a great writer. How is that some people have so many attributes at once? Luckily for us he did, because he wrote so entertainingly about his experiences homesteading in the Peace River country of Alberta. dog-sledding up to the Yukon, ranching in the Rocky Mountain foothills and canoeing down the mighty rivers of British Columbia. Far Pastures consists of yarns drawn from a long and action-packed life. I heartily enjoyed it.
