I really can appreciate this book, although the typos are a little annoying. I can see why this is still one of the leading books in the field. I just wish I cared more when I lived in Miami!

I really enjoyed this book. When it first came out in the 70’s I had gotten a copy and read it practically. Over to cover overnight. In the heat of summer, I thought about when I had first discovered it on a hot summer day then. Getting a revised copy, I found it every bit as informative and insightful as I did then. It’s a great introduction and help in getting to know Santeria and the practices and history of it.
