This is one of the three volumes documenting the work of Nicholas Grimshaw (b. 1939), one of the pioneering figures of British high-tech architecture. The book covers his work from the late 1990s to the end of the 20th century, when the practice expanded to design diverse building types. It includes comprehensive coverage of fourteen different projects, among them the Zürich Airport, the Ludwig Erhard Haus in Berlin, the Orange Call Centre in Darlington, the Caixa Galicia Foundation Building in Spain, and the redevelopment of Paddington Station. It is written by Hugh Pearman, a London-based writer, broadcaster, and lecturer, who also authored Phaidon's Contemporary World Architecture.
