My particular edition of this volume was published in 1998 and towards the end of this volume in the concluding chapter before closing his researches he, Sh. Hisham Kabbani, writes:

"Like the Wahhabis, the "Salafis" accuse Muslims at large of disbelief, they wish harm to the Prophet (saws) and those who love him but, unlike them, do not have the means to carry arms against the innocent. ..." ... fast forward to the present, 2016, and we now know and many have experienced firsthand the sheer brutality that is unleashed by holders of such a twisted doctrine when they are afforded finances and arms. The reality of ISIS is all too real, to be ignored. These stark warnings were there in a pre-911 world - whilst most sat oblivious.

One can easily imagine, back in 1998, when this was first published that many a simpleton, would have cringed at the above rhetoric, dismissing it as sectarian and divisive. Although the researches may have been superseded with better materials today, the overall synthesis of the text remains as poignant as true today as it was when first published. Recommended for those who are still confused over the validity of the "Salafi" claims to traditional scholarship and adherence to the school of the Salaf in doctrines and belief.
