My thoughts: There have been many "takes" on teaching little ones how God made them. How God made each and every part of them and made them special. In God Made You Nose to Toes the child is carried through the sweet rhymes with a little boy and his pal, the Toucan.
The illustrations are especially colorful and have a sweetness that has a real cuddle-factor. Just like the cuddle-factor that children have. Leslie Parrott takes a little different approach to teaching that the body of the child is designed and made by God. I love this way she says things like.... God placed on the beaches some shells and some sand, and he gave you five fingers and called it a hand. You see what she is doing? She is talking about something like the beach, shells, and sand and the image shows a child playing on the beach. Using.... ??? You guessed it, his hand.
God made many sounds that he wants you to hear, so on each side of your head he planted an ear.
And then the author talks about the ear (well, ears, plural) and that they are placed on each side of the head. So the child is made conscious of the fact that God put his ears on both sides of his head. A great opportunity to teach how this way we can hear sounds that surround us. And the purpose of the ears? Well, because God made all these wonderful and beautiful sounds He wants you to hear.
This board book has a padded cover and is perfect for those little hands that will hold it fast and carry it whither-so-ever they go. I highly recommend it!

My Review:
Precious little ones and all their discoveries. You will be able to teach them about all the curiosities they have about their own physical appearance and point them in the direction of the creator. God's greatest blessings are His children. He gave us so much to love and appreciate and His hope is that we grow closer to Him with each passing day.
This is something we can teach our children by doing the little things such as telling them who created them as well as the world around them. This is a great board book that does just that. It is so sweet and I absoltely love the illustrations, too!
**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author. All opinions are my own.
This is a delightful book with colourful illustrations done by a talented artist. Sometimes children's books can be lame or boring especially to the one reading to the young ones. However, I found God Made You Nose to Toes very pleasant to read aloud to my class at the daycare where I work. My class is made up of 2-3 year olds and they were very interested for the whole of the story. I liked how the author chose more unusual animals than household pets to feature in this book. Children will love looking at the bright illustrations, and will learn from the easy-to-understand text that not only did God created each animal with a purpose- He made each of us in a special way!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was a lovely read for children with a simple message, and colorful illustrations that are sure to catch the attention of the sweet little wee ones who hear it!

From The Back Of The Book: Help little ones understand that God created each part of their bodies so they can enjoy life and everything in it. My Thoughts: What a great little book to teach your child (age five and under) about why God made each part of your body and what it can enjoy in life. It also teaches about the things that God made in the universe that we can enjoy with the functions of our body that he gave us, such as smelling with our nose all the things God created that grows and seeing with our eyes the sky, planets and stars, not to mention fingers that can dig in the earth and sand. All in all, God not only created us from Nose to Toes, but also the things in life we enjoy!
Features: The book is bright yellow and beautifully illustrated on the cover and inside. The pictures will have your child spending time just turning the pages looking at the beautiful illustrations. It is a board book which makes it easy for your youngster to turn the pages and also to wipe off sticky handprints. This would make an excellent gift!

Great colorful illustrations help bring the message of the story to life. This young boy learns about how God made all of us from our heads to our toes. The illustrations have this young boy running into different animals and talking about how they have the same things as he does but they may look different. For example, on page one the author says, “God gave old Tucan a fairly big nose. But your little nose can smell all that grows.”
This book also talks about not only the body parts eyes, nose, hands etc. but it also talks about their function and what it allows us to do. The pictures will make you smile could make little ones laugh out loud. I can’t wait to read this to my grandson to experience his reaction. I could see this one becoming a book they will enjoy and learn a thing or two. Note to reader: This book was originally published in March 2002. This new version has a completely different look I really like.

God Made You Nose to Toes is a children’s book written by Leslie Parrott and illustrated by Estelle Corke, exploring how “God loves you completely from your head to big toe.” The book follows the adventures of a young boy and his toucan friend, as the boy smells flowers with his nose, builds a sandcastle with his hands, climbs trees using his knees, gazes at the stars with his eyes, listens to the sound of water splashing with his ears, laughs with his mouth, brushes his teeth, and is reminded of how much God cares for him. The story definitely covers the senses of sight, hearing, touch, and smell; and technically, it also covers the sense of taste when the boy brushes his teeth.
The title character is reminiscent of a character from a Dick and Jane book, drawn in a cute and quaint style. The only illustration that Oak Tree Reviews dislikes is one where the young boy is climbing a tree and hanging upside-down in a dangerous fashion; if he fell, he might be paralyzed. The other drawings are bright, colorful, and charming. Interestingly, Leslie Parrott also published an earlier edition to this book to in 2002, illustrated by Valeria Petrone.
God Made You Nose to Toes is a book by Leslie Parrot that demonstrates in word and picture how great God's love is for us. Estelle Corke's happy colored illustrations draw readers and listeners in as the story unfolds! Eyes to see, ears to hear, a mouth to laugh, a nose to smell, knees for climbing, fingers to touch, children will learn about their senses too!
How much does God love me a child may wonder. This book will help children understand that God has created us in a such a wonderful manner. We follow a boy and his toucan friend through the book as the playful story unfolds. There is building of sandcastles at the beach, climbing a tree, gazing upon the stars in the night sky, splashing in a puddle, giggling at the silly animals, and much more. The imagery is captivating.
I think this is a fantastic book to share with children under the age of six years old. It will teach them about their senses. Give them an appreciation for the great big world around them. And last but not least further affirm in God's love for them. This is a happy feel good sorta book perfect for a bedtime or afternoon storytime.
I love this book! This is my first time with author Leslie Parrott but it won't be my last. She has a warmth and tenderness to her prose that really makes for an endearing children's story. Estelle Corke is the perfect compliment as illustrator for Parrott's heartwarming book. Each page tells about some part of the child's body that God gave such as eyes to see. Each page is beautifully illustrated to show what wonders God gives us through our senses such as a "Little nose to smell things that grow" etc. I really enjoyed the fact that she added a reference to the verse that God loves us so much he counts the hairs on our head. This is a perfect toddler book! It teaches the basics nose, eyes, ears, mouth and hands. It adds interesting things like fingers, knees and teeth. Adorable little boy and cuddly cute animals fill the pages.
God loves you completely from your head to big toe. God loves and will keep you wherever you go.
These last two lines of Leslie Parrott’s God Loves You Nose to Toes sum up the message of this cute, cute book. With colorful and interesting illustrations, children learn that God not only created them, but the world around them. I especially liked how Parrott connects the dots for kids between how they are made and their connection with the rest of creation. God is on every page reinforcing His love and care. This one is perfect for family reading time your little ones.
Recommended.
Audience: children ages 2-5.

Toucan has a big nose, but that is ok because that's just the way God made him. Author and family therapist Leslie Parrott does a great job in this little board book teaching children that God made them just the way they are, no matter what they look like. She explains to the kids that God loves them completely just like they are. In todays world, this is so important to teach your kids these principles. And this great little book it just what you need as a parent. The story is very cute, the pictures are adorable and the colors are bright and will capture any kids attention.

God Made You Nose to Toes is a delightful book created to teach children how God made them. I like this book because the author makes it fun as she highlights the parts of the body children learn about at a young age. I think kids will like the toucan who shows up on each page and the humor sprinkled throughout the book. The illustrations are fun and colorful, too. This is a great tool to teach children how much God loves them.
The board book is a great treat to help teach your little love's all about how God selected a nose etc, and what the usefulness is for them. It brings faith and fun to children. I had a great time reading this one to my family out loud. It is super short but that does not take away from the story at all.
God Made You Nose to Toes By Leslie Parrott is an adorable book for young children. It is both well written and well illustrated with cute pictures and catchy words. The book is perfect for young children learning about God as it shows them that they are both unique and perfect the way they are because that is how God made them.
This book shares the all-important message that we are all created by God. The book celebrates the uniqueness of animals and humans. It recognizes similarities and differents and paints each one as special and important. The story is sweet and my two-year-old finds the pictures highly engaging!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. This review is my honest opinion.
This updated version of God Made You Nose to Toes is a wonderful improvement on the original. The artwork is much more appealing and the padded board book feels nice in your hands. This would make a delightful gift for a new mom or a toddler's birthday.
In rhyming text the author takes you through each part of the body and points out great reasons why God chose to give you the features that He did. I can imagine lots of cuddles and tickles as you read this book to your little one.
If you are looking for another way to solidify to your little one that they are loved by you and especially by God this book would be a great addition to your personal library.
