As someone interested in learning more about how to make scenery/terrain, I had high hopes for this book but should have known better. It is budget priced for a reason and from the binding which does not work well to the lack of pictures, the book is just a little lacking. In theory, it tells you how to use different Woodland Scenic products and it does okay at this. The problem is that they have a Youtube channel that is free and much more useful because you can see exactly what is being done. In many ways, the Scenery Manual is just outdated and is not setup to succeed. For the book to work, it would need many more high quality pictures and step-by-step instructions. The information is good in here, but you have to work to understand and use it in a way that isn't fun. There are better ways of learning how to make scenery and I would not recommend this unless you're on a tight budget and even then I wouldn't recommend having too high of expectations.

This book is about 70% advertisement, and the remaining 30% is covered in better fashion in the Woodland Scenics YouTube videos (although they are pretty heavy on the product name dropping too). At least the YouTube videos are free - I can't believe how much they charge for this "manual" which should be a giveaway with purchases from WS.
