I haven't read this short-lived series since it first came out in the early 90s. I had completely forgotten about it until I found the third book at a library book sale.
This is an odd book and I can see why the series only lasted four books. It looks and reads like a middle grade novel, but the two girls who are the main characters are fifteen. I was shocked when they finally mentioned their age - I had figured they were around twelve.
There is a slightly darker underlying storyline in this one about anorexia that I think becomes a primary story in the fourth and final book. This is a little jarring because of how young the rest of the book reads.
