I use this as a way to provide an approachable format for student writing. There is a formulaic poetry part, an informational text part, and a predictable counting part. I have been lucky enough to be in the audience of a Michael Shoulders presentation several times and each time he shares valuable information about teaching and writing. He is a treasure as much as the books he writes are a treasure, too!

This book is good to use especially with young children to help them recognize their numbers. This book is also good to use with children to help them learn about information about other states.
