When I First Saw You

Rate this book
When literary agent Chante Campbell, her heart filled with poetry and her life empty of romance, gets an all-expense paid vacation for her birthday, she never expects to spend it with her fiance--since she doesn't know she has one. As it turns out, her grandfather impersonated Chante on an Internet dating site, accepted a marriage proposal, and arranged a romantic rendezvous.

Thank goodness Chante's son spills the beans, and Chante is headed to Philadelphia to send the online Romeo back to his computer. Then Chante meets Dr. Antonio Marks--and like a lightning strike in a summer storm, she's hit by blazing attraction. She should tell this gorgeous widower and pediatrician the truth. But Chante fears that even if he overlooks the matchmaking mishap, he'll never forgive the bigger lie she's hiding.

Trapped by deception, Chante is desperately seeking a solution--and life is about to send one that will test the awesome power of love.

Angie Daniels grew up on the South side of Chicago, Illinois. At a very early age, she spent nights creating soap operas with her younger sister until the two drifted off to sleep. Never did she realize that her longtime dream to become a published author would someday become a reality.

In 1999 Angie decided it was finally time to return to her love of writing. She took a year off to write her first book Intimate Intentions, which started off as a simple romance novel and later escalated into 542 pages of romantic suspense. After two submissions, Angie was offered a four-book contract with Genesis Press and her first book was released in 2001. In 2003, she also signed with BET Arabesque, and Kensington's Dafina imprint in 2004. In 2006, she added Parker Publishing, Aphrodisia and Harlequin Kimani Romance to her list. In 2010 she will release her twentieth novel. Angie currently resides in Missouri.

Who's next?

A few grammatical errors but don't take away from the story. Pops meant well when it came to Chante. But he just went by it the wrong way. Antonio was correct, Chante should have been honest from the beginning. Her ex is a wack job. I would have never thought he would stoop so low in the end to get Chante's attention. I hope Dorian can handle himself behind bars. 😝
Please let Martin story be next. So dying to read his story.

A love you can trust

Chante Campbell is the second Campbell to fall in love and Angie Daniels doesn’t disappoint. Chante is a lovely woman and mother who’s been hurt by love but the kind, gentle, and handsome doctor is her second chance at love. Chante’s grandfather gets the ball rolling by reaching out to Antonio who’s also looking for someone to love.
A great read and I’ll be looking for Marty’s story.
Highly recommend

when I first saw you

Another good read from MS. Daniel’s, Tony and Chan was love out of the comedies. The fact that a proposal was done over the internet was strange. I have heard of people falling in love over the computer, but never could see how it’s done. Words are the key factor in that. It was good the results can with good people.

Nothing has changed

I just love this book. After a disastrous first marriage, Chante finds happiness with a man hand picked by her grandfather. Through ups and downs, Tony and Chant find true love.

A SACRED Love

A love like Antonio and Change is unforgettable. I loved the plot, romance, and all the familiar characters. Dorian was a mental case, but I am glad that things worked out for the best for Chante and Devon. Another great novel for Angie Daniels.

Good read

Chants and Antonio met under crazy circumstances, but it was love after all. Secrets and a crazy non-dead ex-husbsnd leads to interesting times. Hoping to bread more about the Campbell clan soon.

It is my hope that there will be more to the series. More story lines with different couples mentioned within this book.

I found the lies to be one that could have and should have been resolve at the initial meeting. But I guess that would not have made for a very exciting or interesting courtship or break up and reunion. Ok, I guess. I do expect more from this author. She does really good work. I was not as pleased as I have been with other books.

I wasn't impressed with the book. I couldn't really connect to the characters or their stories. While the premise could be true, I don't think it was put together well.
