Eighty-eight-year-old Emily wishes her new home were as boring as people think nursing homes are. But ever since her grandson, George, started reading her stories from the children’s book he’s writing, strange things are happening. Visits by animals that are anything but cuddly. A scorching sun squeezing through the electrical socket. It all leaves Emily scared and exhausted. But who believes a demented old woman? But then, other people get involved in the attacks, and themes from the book that nobody can know about come to life in Emily’s home, cloaked in evil. George and Emily’s nurse finally realize they’re more than just dreams. The only way to save Emily and the other residents is to kill the child protagonist in George’s book. But that’s not an easy thing to do when you’re up against indoor tornadoes, a demonic turtle, and a melting floor—all at the same time. Meanwhile, the question why is all this happening to a bunch of innocent seniors?
