I HATE this book. I cringe every time my kid asks me to read it to him. If I didn't have a deep respect for the written word I'd burn it. I keep meaning to throw it out while my kid isn't looking...maybe I'll do that now.

I get that this book is trying to encourage kids to have big dreams and that they can grow up to be whatever they want. My issue is with how they encourage it. "Picture yourself having or being or doing whatever you desire today. Put the picture in a bubble, then let it float away. Trust that it will happen, let it go of it all the way; Don't forget to say thank you, then go outside and play!" Are you flipping kidding me? Since when do wishes turn you into a firefighter? Or president? Or doctor? Hard work does. This book teaches kids that some magical force will give them all they desire as long as it's "positive." Awful examples for children.
