From 1984 till 1989 she was one of the press speakers on behalf of the Green Party. She belonged to the eco-socialist wing of the party.
Round the year 1991 she left the Green Party and joined the outer-parlementary party the Ecological-Left. In which she is active as a writer and publicist.
She wrote two books on the Rote Armee Fraktion, one of them is a biography of Ulrike Meinhof. On her website she also calls for donations for the mantaining the Ulrike Meinhof archive
