Lie, cheat or steal, no one can catch Tripp Fox. Except one woman.

Lexi Shepherd’s knack for finding whatever is asked of her isn’t sheer luck. It’s a gift from the Greek god Zeus.

That Lexi doesn’t use her ability to search for “Mr. Right” comes from one of many personal rules she has set for herself. Number one is not to let fate dictate her future.

Falling in love with Tripp breaks all the others.

Despite her principles, Lexi’s unable to stay away from the bad boy, and she finds herself toeing the grey line of the law for him.

Zeus, though, didn’t give Lexi and Tripp their talents to make their relationship a simple, easy alliance. He designed it to be exactly the opposite. Impossible. Always.

With their separation, Lexi expects Tripp to forfeit love in favor of destiny. He, on the other hand, intends to beat Zeus at his own game. With a plan in place, Tripp challenges Lexi to take the one action no one else can.

Find him.

The question isn’t can she ... but will she?

Aimee is a romantic at heart and a southern transplant with a bit of the accent (but not a whole bunch). She's married to her high school sweetheart, and with him, she's produced three native North Carolinians, two of whom share the same DNA.

With an MBA and a degree in Applied Mathematics, there’s absolutely no reason she should be writing romance novels. Then again, she shouldn't need a calculator to add two numbers, either ... but she does.

Hide and seek is a brilliantly written and sexy book. Lexi and Tripp are both two very gifted characters both have their own problems, Tripp is to marry a women his does not love while Lexi can’t find her true love so when they walk into each other’s life’s you would think it would be simply but it’s not. Zeus gave them the gifts and as a god he made shore that Tripp and Lexi are opposites made to be apart but the two of them have other ideas

I was sucked into the book nearly at once. While Lexi is normally the clear headed one that goes by the rules and Tripp I found to be cheeky and intelligent but once you mix the two together it’s like the characters change before your eyes. I thought they work so well together and their relationship could make any women envious. While the heat factor of this book could burn any reader and leave a smile on your face there was so much more to the book. The story line held a mix of Danger and excitement that left me wanting to read more and the twist of paranormal and mythology as their powers come from the gods really blow me away.

It was easy to fall in love with Tripp and be carried away with the excitement and the pure power and fun of the writing. This one book I could read again and again.

To sum up this book is easy so much heat, passion and danger you’ll be left breathless for more!

Some books? It's just impossible to review them without sounding like a blathering imbecile. Most the time that happens to me, it's because I've fallen hook, line and sinker for the main male character and still have starry eyes whilst trying to write my review.
Everyone has a favourite type of male character who's their ultimate fictional guy. Tripp Fox is mine.
MINE, I say! *cough*
Anyway, Hide & Seek may not be due out for a little while, but I'm the lucky sucker who had an early sneak preview. This is one of those books I can read, read again, and then read again and still not be bored of Tripp (<abilities that have the potential to make an intimate relationship with this guy a little more exciting than ... (that's enough of that spoiler) Who knows? All I do know is Tripp Fox is my sort of man. 100%.
Tie him in with Lexi, who I actually wanted to win the guy (which is saying a lot considering how I feel about him), and this novel is a definite winner.
I'm not going to say too much, due to my hatred of spoilers--especially for works so new still to the world--but just know love must, can, will, and does conquer all.
For those who love a dose of PNR, but are looking for something other than supernatural creatures to give you a fix, then this just might be a decent choice for you.

I received this book as a part of the Read 2 Review program.

Talk about swept off your feet. Let me just say that this was an enjoyable read. The Zeus fox and hound as the basis for the love story that unfolds is an interesting one. Not familiar with the tale, I was sucked in to read more.

Lexi, the female lead, was a well grounded girl not like some of the silly girls I’ve been reading lately. For the most part her actions were believable and admirable on occasion. Tripp, the hunky male lead was just enough bad boy to entice you but not enough to scare you away.

Now onto the romance.

But by the end of the story I was a puddle in the pool of romance, none of what I mentioned above seemed to matter anymore.

However, I did have a few other questions.

Overall, I would recommend to my paranormal romance lovers. Especially to those who like a little more romance in their story.

My book boyfriend would be Tripp of course.

I had the pleasure of reading this book as part of the Read 2 Review group and it was more of a pleasure because at the moment, it isn't released! I feel privileged...

I love the idea of Mythology and what better way to read about it than inside a paranormal romance novel.

The God Zues gave two people talents, they were the opposites of each other and never meant to meet.... in comes Tripp and Lexi, the 'never to be caught' and the 'always finds' young peeople.

Against the odds, or so they think, Tripp and Lexi meet and go through some pretty tough times but they also have some pretty dam good times, considering they were not part of the overall plan to come together in the first place.

Their talents show throughout the book and you become wrapped in the Mythological mystery of how this is meant to work.

I really enjoyed most of the book, I LOVED LOVED LOVED Tripp!!! Lexi didn't make the best leading lady as far as I was concerned, she didn't seem to have that 'trust' factor with Tripp and I know I can see where and why she is like this... but hey, I think she could of given him as much as he gave her in the earlier part of the book!!

My only negative aspect (apart from Lexi's winging at times) was that I found the book took too long at times, a lot of descriptive writing (and very well done) became a little boring for me..... but overall I did enjoy the plot, the characters and the adventure throughout. I'd definately wouldn't have been disappointed if I'd had bought this book myself... money worth spending!!!!

I'd recommend this book to anyone that loves paranormal romance....

This book was a definite winner. Charming, snarky hero (with a bad boy 'live in the gray' edge) and sparkling best friend/business partner too. Steamy, did-it-just-get-hot-in-here romance. Add a hefty helping of fate throwing dirt in your eye.

Hide & Seek is the first book in the Games of Zeus series. This is more of a paranormal romance, as each book follows a different H/h (couple); but you can still learn about some of the characters in Silent Echoes in the first book.

I figured, I should read book one (I'm an anal reader like that...) and my, Oh my! I loved each and every second of this book, and look forward to Silent Echoes. It's so hot, it's smokin', and I'm a BIG fan of the hero (and his earring) and have even grown fond of the future hero for book #2. Men that live "in the gray" are exciting and unpredictable. It's almost that same thing that draws me to motorcycle romance books as well. Toeing the line can be such fun!

I will definitely be adding these books to my recommendation list, and can't wait to read Aimee's other titles. I am just smitten.

Eager to read the next book in the series!

4.5 of 5 Stars! A fantastic, romantic paranormal read.

Having always been interested in mythologies and lore, I was keen to get my hands on this new novel by Aimee Laine. Games of Zeus? What could that be all about? The mind boggled. So when the review copy arrived in my inbox, I jumped in with both feet. Easy to do with the way Ms. Laine sets the stage at the outset. We start on an intriguing high and the story never lets go.

Hide and Seek takes established Greek mythology, sprinkles it with a dash of paranormal, and then shakes it all up with a healthy dose of passionate romance. Tasty vittles!

Based on the legend of the cunning fox who never gets caught and the always successful seeker, the hound, Hide and Seek features the most hunky male lead this reviewer has come across to date. Tripp Fox is exactly the kind of man who gets my attention--sweet and sexy with a dash of dangerous. I bet you can't guess which side of Zeus' paradox he plays? His counterpart, Lexi Shepherd, is of course, the hound, the seeker who can find whatever she looks for.

Our star-crossed (literally) soulmates are set at opposing sides of the ultimate paradox, and must figure out a way to best the game to be together.

I absolutely loved this story. It held enough tension and drama to keep me turning the pages and the romance balanced just the right amounts of sweet and steamy passion.

The secondary characters were absolutely wonderful. They really jumped off the page, and their presence added to the beautifully described, intricate details of the story, as well as the fictional paranormal town, Rune, N.C. which was also featured in Ms. Laine's debut novel, Little White Lies.

The only thing that stopped me from giving this novel a full 5 star rating was Lexi Shepherd's character. True to her nature, Lexi is good--almost to the point of prude. Throughout the story she questioned Tripp's morals and intentions, despite his behaving quite well throughout the novel (considering he knows no matter what he can't get caught if he doesn't want to). About halfway through the novel, I found myself annoyed when she continually refused to trust Tripp or sometimes even give him the benefit of the doubt. For all we see him doing for her when in his POV, it was difficult to swtich back and be "okay" with her distrust of his intentions. That being said, I did like her overall, and was rooting for her and Tripp to "make it". I just needed to remind myself she was only being true to who she is -- the upstanding and morally solid hound.

I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys paranormal romances, and would consider it a MUST READ for anyone with an interest in the Greek myths.

There is absolutely no simplicity to this author’s writing style, the structure was very complex which completely complemented the multifaceted plot. Yet the author made it seem simple with the effortless way that she sewed the plot, romance, and suspense. The suspense was in the fact that you didn’t really know which way the story would go. The whole time I wonder in which direction the author was going to take this, which of course added to the emotional impact.

The characters do lean towards the stereo-typical hero and heroine, however they were given twists that kept them from being boring. While Tripp is the quintessential adorable rouge with a large dose of charm, there is equal mounts of vulnerability and uncertainty. Add in his complicated and sometimes a nuisance of a gift. There was never a moment in which I wasn’t intrigued. I truly loved Lexi, while she is the one thing in the story that bordered on
simply written it added to the magic. She’s a soft, vulnerable character that I found myself wanting to protect.

I won an ARC of Hide & Seek from author Aimee Laine earlier this week and dug right in. It was my first time reading Laine and I honestly loved it! The writing hooked me from page one. She includes just enough mystery and intrigue to keep you eagerly turning the page and wondering what in the world is happening but doesn't push it over the edge to frustrating and confusing. I had to keep making myself put down my NOOK and actually get some work done around the house. Excellent problem, right?

Laelaps and the Teumessian fox. A magical dog who always catches it's prey and a fox destined to never be caught. Definitely a first in reading for me and a great twist to the idea of star-crossed lovers. The main characters, Lexi and Tripp, were both charming and entertaining. Each used their gifts/curse from Zeus in different ways. Lexi can find anything she's looking for just by thinking about the item and uses her talents in a completely honest, safe, and boring way finding people their dream homes. Tripp, on the other hand, can never be caught and tends to walk in the grey area doing item retrieval. The two are complete opposites and should never meet but one night the stars align, so to speak, and they're thrown into each other's lives, running into each other twice in 24 hours. There's an immediate attraction but they recognize who the other is, mythologically speaking, from nearly the start and know things will not be easy for them.

Tripp is determined to figure a way around their curse. He knows they should be together despite Lexi's doubts that things would never work for them as a couple because of their abilities. With his gift Tripp would be able to hide anything from Lexi and never be caught. Lexi just couldn't get over the idea of him potentially using his gifts against her and being unfaithful or crossing the line morally/legally in his work. This led to my big complaint. She's falling in love with him and it's obvious he adores her but she just can't get over her fears. After a while I wanted her to start trusting him and on more than one occasion wanted to yell "oh come on already Lexi!!". A minor complaint really but still got under my skin a bit. The two finally do decide to give things a try both on a business and professional level. Was definitely loving Tripp's gift of never getting caught and the way he used it with Lexi on a personal level. Things were very steamy between the two and he was far from shy with his choice of locations for said steamy moments. Whoa! He's good. Really, really, good.

I really enjoyed the additions to the story outside of the main couple. Tripp's best friend Ian especially. He's terrible in a fantastic way. He reminds me of that guy most groups have that's just a little pervy and always on the make but somehow manages to be endearing and cute. Plus he says things like "Praise-alujah" which may just be my favorite saying now. I so want more of him. And then there's Dulces. If a place like this exists I want to know. And I want to know now! It sounds heavenly and I wanted to jump into the book and try all of the foods right then and there.

If I hadn't already been won over the last 30 pages or so would have sealed the deal. I absolutely adored the ending. Guess it's the romantic in me but damn was it good! Overwhelmingly sweet and perfectly played out. Had me in tears and wishing like hell I had a Tripp of my own to catch. If I haven't mentioned it before he is just. so. good! I'm looking forward to reading more of this series and can't wait to see what happens next!

A book full of romance and charming characters.

With a plan in place, Tripp challenges Lexi to take the one action no one else can.

Find him. The question isn’t can she ... but will she?

Looking at the cover you must be thinking, "Damn, that guy is hot.", but when you read the book you will fall in love with the character, Tripp Fox. He thinks no one can catch him, until he meets his match. Lexi, a beautiful girl who captures his heart, but there's a problem. Tripp is going to marry Jill, a daddy's girl, with all the money she can get her hands on. And on top of that, Tripp and Lexi aren't supposed to be together. They have powers that were not ment to meet; not meant to bond.

I found myself being pulled into the story of Hide & Seek. Tripp and Lexi's relationship had me in awe. When they met something clicked and they couldn't seem to stay apart. I felt the ending was the MOST ROMANTIC scene I've ever read. If only a boy would go to such trouble for me. Tripp Fox, be mine?

I never thought it'd be so addictive. When I first saw the title, I wasn't quite sure what it'd be about. This is what went through my mind:

What?! Hide & Seek? A book about people going PEE-KA-BOO! Huh? This doesn't sound overly interesting?

But then I read the blurb:

Must. Find. Book.

I can't wait to see what the second book is about! Maybe new characters? Or maybe we can read more about the future of Tripp and Lexi! For now, I will have to check out Aimee's other novels. Make sure you do to! I recommend this for older readers who love a good romance.

Hide & Seek by the lovely and talented Aimee Laine is a hardcore romantic’s dream come true. It’s filled to the brim with conflict, intrigue, heart-melting romance, a hot guy who is flawed but sweet, a heroine who knows what she wants, and enough sexual tension to set the house on fire. Not to mention the poetic writing style and scenery I disappeared into like a daydream.

Five big ones from me! ☆☆☆☆☆

Let’s begin with the cover. Yummy, right? What a spectacular view. The cityscape of Paris isn’t bad, either. ;)

The blend of colors and different fonts give a sense of warmth, and the delicious man-god staring at something we can’t see adds a bit of intrigue.

Lexi is bored with her life as a real estate agent, though her moral compass won’t let her use her Zeus-given abilities to find anything that will get her into trouble. Until she runs into the delicious Mr. Fox on the beach one night. I could almost feel the sparks flying between the two, and my own anxiety jacked up because I wanted her to say to hell with her misgivings and be with him.

Hide & Seek is essentially a story about learning to trust. Lexi and Tripp’s talents work against one another, and it’s that air of distrust that stands between them along with Zeus’s little paradox he cursed them with. Add to that an ex-fiance who won’t take Tripp’s no for an answer, and her Daddy who wants to keep her happy, and there is one giant mountain Lexi and Tripp have to climb to find happiness together. One quiet enjoyable for us readers to squirm in our seats while we follow along with their ups and downs.

I quite enjoyed this tale and I have to say, it had THEE most romantic ending of all time. Well done, Ms. Laine.

Magnets and Romance. Two people who have to find a way to pull together to have their forever instead of push each other away. Tripp and Lexi have to find away to go against what seems to be their destiny-to be apart by decree. The mythology of Zeus' Fox and Hound has come alive with these two characters. Tripp cannot be caught and Lexi can find anything. Those two things would naturally go together and that's why they were never supposed to meet. But they have and so the story starts.

The story has many twists and turns and just about the time I would begin to think I knew what the characters were going to do, something would happen to totally change what I was thinking. Predictable it is not. With many different threads of storyline being pulled along at the same time, there is enough to keep a reader busy and engaged. While I can read some books in a couple of hours, this one I slowed down and savored for a few days, delighting in the rich characterizations and Tripp's antics. I was even so interested in the story that I stopped and went to my mythology books to read up on the Zeus mythology on Lailaps, the Hound and the Teumessian Fox, Laine's inspiration for the main characters "gifts."

The last chapter and Tripp's plans are enough to make the book worth it, all by itself. This is one of those books to settle down in a wonderful chair with music and a sweet dessert and savor.

I really enjoyed this read. It was well written and not choppy in any part leaving you wondering WTH? I love the story line, I'm a sucker for some mythology mixed in with my romance. The characters were fun and not wishy-washy in any way.

You have Lexi and Tripp. Both given powers by Zeus and are never supposed to come into contact together. Tripp is the "fox" he can never get caught at anything and uses it for for his career of retrieval of items for hire. Lexi is the "hound" she can find anything she puts her mind to and uses it for her real estate business finding people their perfect homes.

While on vacation the two bump into eachother and the game is on! Both drawn to eachother they must best Zeus at his own game. That is, if they want to stay together forever.

A must read!

Well what an amazing book. I really think it was one of the most romantic I have ever read. I found that the pursuit to a happy ending always has to have it ups and downs, but it was the way this book handled it that I found so exciting.

I found I also learned a vaulable lesson when it comes to love in this book, “You can’t always judge people on what they might do, but on what they actually end up doing”. You have to have trust to have a great relationship, and that was so proven in this story.

I love the road both Tripp and Lexi must travel in order to find where they really belong. Do you always go with what is always safe, or do you take a leap of faith? Overall this book, made me laugh, it made me sigh, it got me all exited, and boy in the end did I cry!

I could not put this book down once I started and look forward to anything else from Aimee Laine.

Well, I must confess. I gave Little White Lies 5 stars and this one is better by far. If I could, it would get 6 or 7.

What a unique story. Wish I'd thought of it. Yes, it's a love story, but it's so much more. Ms. Laine can tell a story like few can, engaging the reader's senses so that we taste the salt water, see the sleeping store clerk, hear the squeaky stairs, taste the desserts from Dulces... oh if only we could taste Tripp Fox as well. Le Sigh.

The tension from the first page had me thinking where the hell can Ms. Laine take the story from here???!! Ten chapters later the story is still rolling along with both internal struggles and outward conflict for Tripp and Lexi. And, there's no relief till the epilogue.

Well done, Ms. Laine. WELL DONE.

This was such a sweet story. A little confusing in the beginning because there was just so much to adsorb. But half way through I was all cheering Tripp on. Lexi drove me crazy at times. I mean I get it be cautious and all but she was pushing Tripp away then pulling him close, back and forth. But Lexi did get her head on straight. There was moments that I did not see coming and was shaking my head on how crazy things really were to get these two together. OMG the ending!!!!! It was probably one of the most romantic endings for me ever. I tried to think of another that may have been like this and I cant think of one. Tripp was fantastic! This was a great love story!!

To say this is well written would be a major understatement, it could even get me blasted by lightening. This book had all the key elements that us Romance Fictional Book lovers search for. It’s one of those one in a million finds, an exceptional book. There is absolutely nothing for me to complain about, which is, honestly, pretty rare.

I highly recommend Hide and Seek in every way, pure magic.

Thank you to J. Taylor Publishing and the Read to Review programme on Goodreads for a review copy of the book!

For anyone that enjoys a mythology-tinged romance, then this is definitely the book for them. I really liked the concept of the story, but I'm not sure I liked the story itself. I felt there was a lot of potential and the writing was beautiful, but something was missing.

Tripp Fox and Lexi Shephard are the proverbial Fox and Hound (the mythological Teumessian Fox and Laelaps) who have abilities bestowed upon them by Zeus. Tripp is the fox that can't be caught, and Lexi is the dog that always catches her prey. They are each other's diametrically opposite match and due to the nature of their mutually excluding abilities they aren't ever meant to meet. However, by accident (or fate), they do meet and fall in love, and try to break the cycle.

I loved the mythology, but wish it was explored further in the book. Everyone took Lexi and Tripp's abilities as given, with mentions of Zeus every now and then, but the book never went into great detail. I would've loved to know why he granted these abilities and how the gifted are chosen, etc. All it really told you was that there were other people with the abilities and there was one older couple they met who managed to make the relationship work. Perhaps the next books in the series will reveal more.

I liked Tripp and Lexi as characters individually—both were strong-minded, driven, a little reckless and loyal to their friends and family. Where I struggled a bit was their romance. I didn't feel like they had a lot of chemistry, almost as if they convinced each other (or at least, Tripp kept badgering Lexi) to be together. They were constantly telling themselves they loved each other, but throughout the book, I wasn't that convinced.

The supporting cast was great, however. Ian, Tripp's best friend and Emma, Lexi's sister were great, well-rounded characters who offered a lot of advice, support and comic relief. Marge and Fergs, as the older couple who acted like mentors to Tripp and Lexi were wonderful and I really enjoyed them. The house, an old farm house that Lexi had always wanted to buy and Tripp eventually did, also seemed to have a character of its own and was instrumental in their relationship. Sometimes though, I felt like they loved the house more than each other! The plot had a lot of twists and turns, but I felt that most of it was extraneous and I just wanted to hurry on and read about how Lexi and Tripp were going to get around the situation they were in.

What ultimately saved it for me was the ending. I was absolutely enthralled, probably because it was extremely romantic and I have been watching a lot of a UK TV show called 'Don't Tell The Bride'. In the show, the couple get £12,000 to spend on a wedding with one catch—the groom has to plan every detail (including picking the dress). Not to give away too much, but those weddings are almost always a disaster, but the one at the end of Hide and Seek most certainly wasn't and really had me swooning.

The book wrapped up nicely and works well as a stand alone story, so I may or may not be picking up the sequels, but any romance fan should definitely give it a try.

Tripp Fox goes against all things Lexi Shepard does not agree with. With their gifts from the Greek God Zeus, Lexi has the ability to find things, and Tripp cannot be caught, except by one woman. Falling in love with Tripp breaks all the rules. Despite her principles, Lexi’s unable to stay away from the bad boy. Zeus didn’t give Lexi and Tripp their talents to make their relationship a simple thing. He designed it to be exactly the opposite, Impossible. With their separation, Lexi expects Tripp to forfeit love in favor of destiny. He, on the other hand, intends to beat Zeus at his own game. With a plan, Tripp challenges Lexi to take the one action no one else can.Find him. The question isn’t can she, but will she?

I received this book from JTaylor Publishing to review because I am part of their reviewers program. So on to the review!

I really enjoyed this book. I loved it so much! It was exciting, the characters were amazing, it kept you guessing, and it was so different than the books I am use to reading.

Lets start with the character, Lexi and Tripp. Those to are what made the story! Tripp was wonderful. He was kind of everything I love in a male counterpart. Bad boy, but loving; Secretive, but willing; and Cunning, but cute. And Tripp was so adventurous. He brought the action to the book, but so did Lexi. I just adored his character! Lexi, was kind of self-conscience to me at first, the goody girl who didn't want to do anything wrong or take a chance. But I really like her character. She wanted to try new things and go outside her comfort zone, but would always second guess herself. Lexi and Tripp's relationship was absolutely, how should I say this, heated. Between the arguing, the sex, and their over all chemistry, what's not to love?!

Emma and Ian always had me laughing. Emma knew her twin and knew exactly what she would/say before she said it, which I loved! I loved when Emma called Lexi out on when she knew Lexi was thinking negatively about an issue. It was so entertaining. Ian was just a trip. But I loved he and Tripp's brotherly relationship.
Marge and Gorge confused the mess out of me in the beginning, but I now understand their whole part in the story. They were adorable!

The action in this book was written out so well. Since I am an action kind of girl, that is one of the things that keeps me flipping the pages and I was not disappointed with this book! I stay up all night to read this book and it is now 5:10 in the AM! I pulled an all nighter but I am so glad I did.

The ending was so sweet and I enjoyed every minute reading it! I would say the only problem I really had with this book was Lexi's inability to trust Tripp. As the reader, I see what he's capable of and how he's feeling. Lol It just frustrated me to know end, because I loved Tripp and trusted him so why is she having the trust issues! Lol Silly me :)

But overall, the book was amazing! I enjoyed it. It is an adult book to all my readers out their. But if you love a good romance, action, and a tad of mystery, I think you'll enjoy this book!

Wow! I don't even know what to say. I have never read anything by Aimee Laine before this book and I have to say I am now a fan. This book completely blew me away. I could not put it down and I ended up reading the whole book in 1 day.

Lexi has a god-given gift. She can find anything just by thinking of it or looking at a picture. It's not any god-given gift, it's from Zeus. She has high morals and she won't use her gift for personal use. Then she meets Tripp. Tripp also has a gift from Zeus, he is Lexi's complete opposite. He's the bad boy while she is the good girl but when they meet sparks fly. Literally! Will they be able to put aside their differences and fight for their relationship? Even if it means fighting the Gods?

I absolutely love books about mythology. I really love them but most mythology books I have come across have all been YA so when I heard about this I couldn't wait to read it. I have to say this is one of the best mythology books I have ever read. It completely blew me away and I could not stop reading.
Aimee's amazing writing style completely sucked me in from the first page and I was completely hooked. I loved every moment of this book and when I had to do something else all I wanted was to go back to my kindle and read some more.

Lexi is such a fantastic character, I really loved her and I loved seeing the struggle she went through in this book. She had to struggle between her feelings and her morals and I loved seeing her journey throughout the book and how she worked through everything.
Tripp, oh Tripp. When I first finished this book, if I had wrote my review then it would have just been, Tripp...... HOT! Yummy! He is definitely all of these things. He is the perfect book boyfriend and every girl will fall head-over-heels in love with him. I know I did. He is the bad boy and really what girl can't resist a bad boy? But then the more you read the more you see his softer side, he's sweet and romantic and Aimee mixed the loving guy and bad boy perfectly. I just love Tripp and I wish he were real! I know... I say that about every fictional guy, but really? I want them to be real.

I genuinely loved this storyline that Aimee has come up with and I cannot wait to read more of this series and see where Tripp and Lexi's relationship goes from her. To me this book had the perfect ending and I would be perfectly happy if this was a stand-alone novel but I am so excited to read the rest of the series.

I just want to say a huge thank you to J. Taylor Publishing for letting me review this book. It was fantastic and I know I will read it again and again and never get bored of it. It's not possible to get bored of Tripp.

Having already read Aimee Laine's first book, Little White Lies, I had great expectations for Hide and Seek...and it completely lived up to them! It's a truly fantastic story with incredibly characters, and an extremely intriguing storyline that will keep you enthralled until the very last word. :D

From the name of the series, Games of Zeus, it's pretty obvious that mythology is involved, and Aimee Laine has woven it into her story in an intriguing and unique way. She's brought the great paradox of the Teumessian fox and Laelaps into her story, the fox that could never be caught, and the dog that never failed to catch what it hunted...put them together, and it's like a circle that never ends. :P Lexi and Tripp embody these mythological figures, and by adding in some extreme attraction and sexual tension, Aimee Laine makes this myth even more fascinating. ;)

Hide and Seek's characters were fantastic! Lexi was awesome, and I thought she was an amazing heroine. She's smart, independent, and was wanting a little bit of excitement...needless to say, by the end of the book, she definitely got some. In more ways than one...sorry, I couldn't resist. :P Tripp was....oh, I don't even know how to begin to describe Tripp. First, he's totally drool-worthy...I mean come on, look at this book cover and tell me I'm wrong. :P Second, he is an amazing guy. He may not always do things the legal way, but he has morals and lines that he swears he won't cross, and he sticks to them. I respected that in him, and I respected that he was very forthright and honest. He's a great match for Lexi, and they compliment each other so well! :D

There's a bit of mystery revolving around Hide and Seek, and for a while it seems like it's going to straightforward and you think that you can kind of guess where it will lead, then suddenly something will pop up and keep you on your toes! I loved how Aimee wove this mysterious element into the romance and the conflicts surrounding them. I also really enjoyed the way that she reinvented the paradox between Laelaps and the Teumessian fox. Finally, while it's a very small detail in the story as a whole, I absolutely loved that Hide and Seek was set in Rune, just like Aimee Laine's Mimics of Rune series! :D Also, just in case anyone isn't aware, there is sex in Hide and Seek, it's not overly descriptive, but it is there, so if you're a little young for adult material or find it uncomfortable to read, even when it isn't gratuitous, this might not be the book for you. That being said, I personally thoroughly enjoyed ALL of this book. :)

The old legend says:

“The Teumessian Fox was destined never to be caught. Lailaps was destined to catch his prey. The Fox was sent by the Gods to terrorize the country side of Thebes as punishment for a crime. Lailaps was then sent to catch the Fox. This would have been a never ending cycle. Which is why Zeus took pity on them and turned both creatures to stone. “

No one can catch Tripp Fox. He lies, cheats, steals. He can never be caught, he has the ability to disappear, literally. He has a blue star as a birthmark.

Lexi Shepherd finds things. She has a gift and she uses it to help people. She has a birthmark, too, the exact opposite of Tripp’s. Perfect match.

Their abilities came from Zeus himself. The fox who could never be caught and the dog who could always catch her pray. An un-winnable game of hide and seek.

What happens when two opposites fall in love? When two opposite magnets come too close to each other? Can they win the un-winnable game? What do they have to give up for the love of a lifetime? Can they survive without their gifts?

Mythology, paranormal, romance, adventure. This book has it all.

Lexi has a perfect gift. She can find things. She can find people. But she has some rules. She often struggles between her moral rules that define her as a person and her feelings for the man she loves.

Tripp, you can’t not to fall in love with him. Great sexy look, extraordinary character. Doing not so legal things. Always with the sense for justice. Under the cover there is a gentle and romantic soul. I fall in love with him already.

Emma is Lexi’s twin sister. Her female opposite. While Lexi has dark hair and dark eyes, Emma has same face, but she is blond with blue eyes. Not just sisters, but also best friends. They own a company Wise Women, where they work together finding things for other people. They have great relationship.

Another great character is Ian, Tripp’s best friend. Closer than brothers. Relationship like Lexi and Emmas’.

What a extraordinary story. I couldn’t turn my eyes away from the pc screen. Myths, romance, sex, adventure, paranormal things. I enjoyed every word. I can read it over and over. Now I want more. I am definitely fan of Aimee Laine now. I can’t rate this book less than 5.

I received this book an an ARC from J Taylor Publishing, I love mythology themed books and this one didn't disappoint. Lexi and Tripp are a force to be reckoned with. They have all the makings of a powerful couple. Aimee Laine crafts a spellbinding story with romance, suspense, and intrigue all mixed in. Lexi is such a headstrong herione with an amazing gift but stuggles with her inner conflicts. Tripp is an amazing leading man with all the right qualities. When you put them together you are in for a treat. This book has a few twists and turns I didn't see coming and will throw readers for a loop. I loveed watching their love story unfold and the fairy tale ending was to die for. It was the perfect way to wrap up the book and showcase their love. Overall if you want a nice romantic love story with two headstrong characters this book is for you.

Thanks again to J Taylor Publishing.

Since I was fortunate to receive a copy of this book via Read2Review, I was really excited. For me, the beginning went a little slow, but it managed to managed to gather steam after the 1st few pages... By the time it had ended, it left me wanting for me. I believe that this author has a lot of promise, and I'm looking forward to the next installment.

This is my alter-ego's book, so I won't rate it as I don't think that would be fair — I'd have to give it a 5* because I'm 100% biased. ;)

Greek Mythology never looked so hot! Hide & Seek by Aimee Laine is a true treasure among the galaxy of reading. Packed full of suspense, steamy romance, intrigue and twists and turns of the paranormal and love kind, this is a book that will hook the reader from the beginning to the end!

Lexi has never had much luck in the romance area. Add to that the curse (or gift, whichever way you would like to look at it) given to her by the all-powerful Zeus and the poor woman has an anything but easy time. Her gift? The ability to focus in and find things for anyone. Lexi is the seeker. Though she could use this ability to great extents, she has some very firm rules that she has set for herself and her talent. One of those rules is to not seek out and find people. Lexi is also someone who likes to settle in with the tried and true methods that keep her life safe and secure.

The complete opposite? Tripp. Tripp is the one with the talent and ability to hide. He can also never get caught. Using this talent, given to him by Zeus, he sometimes walks a very fine line that gets awfully close to crossing the line into a moral dilemma.

Can two people be any more different than Tripp and Lexi?

No matter how opposite their talents may be, there is an incredibly strong chemistry between them that cannot be denied. Can they figure out a way to break the curse bestowed upon them so that they can be together, or will the stars black out on them, leaving them alone and broken?

Hide & Seek was such an amazingly wonderful read. I loved both the characters of Tripp and Lexi. They definitely had that push and pull attraction and relationship going on. The chemistry between them was sizzling and fairly radiated from the pages. I also loved the Greek Mythology link twisted and intertwined within the story and the characters. Aimee Laine manages to seamlessly blend together sassiness, humor, suspense and steaminess all in one marvelous story. Never is there a dull or "down-time" moment in the story and because of this, Hide & Seek is a very quick read. The connection between Tripp and Lexi is excellent - and I am not talking about just the chemistry connection, but rather the connection that is between them because of Zeus' gift.

For lovers of paranormal, romance and suspense, Hide & Seek is the perfect story to delve into. I truly loved it and cannot wait to read more by Aimee Laine!

Quote: He laid his lips against hers - soft, gentle - keeping his hands at his side. As he pressed forward, Lexi fell into the kiss. Her hands slid up his chest, careful to avoid his arm. She snaked her hands around the back of his neck, pulling him down as their tongues sought each other.

A bolt of lightning cracked the sky.

Lexi jumped back from Tripp.

"Do it again." He urges her back against him.

"Do what? That was coincidental. A storm's coming."

"I don't think so." One side of is mouth curled. "Kiss me."

Lexi's brow arched. She stepped back to Tripp, drew his head forward and rained kisses from one side of his lips to the other, spreading them with her tongue.

Lightening flashed again. A crash reverberated from above the porch, and a shower of sparks rained around them.

GENRE: Paranormal Romance
THEME: Mythology
RECEIVED: Won from Author
BLOG: http://seeingnight.blogspot.com/

REVIEW:
Lately I’ve been reading a lot of well-written novel that are based around Greek Mythology. Aimee Laine cleverly crafts Hide & Seek on Zeus’ fox and hound myth. Two people who are pulled together like magnets but also seem to find away to push away from each, afraid of what their destinies might become.

Lexi is a woman who seems to have all the bad luck in finding a good man, but good luck in finding anything else. After one of her side jobs goes wrong with the client, she is brought face to face with a man whom she feels a strong pull too. Tripp feels the same pull but he too is stuck in a bit of a mess, involving his special talent and a crazy relationship. Little does Tripp and Lexi know that their lives are about to get way more interesting now that they’ve met, but the thing is… they were never suppose to meet.

Lexi is a strong woman who has the worst luck in relationships, but on the other hand happily runs a successful business with her sister and twin. But they also like to have some adventure and use Lexi unusual talent in finding anything and everything for clients who are seeking something that’s not suppose to be findable. I love Lexi’s spunk and how she loved to be adventurous but still is on the edge about wanting to risk too much. She does have a large shield of protection up against letting someone in her heart. At some points I wished she would not have so many doubt about what was going on in her life and especially about Tripp, but in the end the story was put together nicely with all the twist and turns.

Tripp Fox, he’s pretty irresistible and in everyway Lexi’s opposite. He’s what you would call the Bad Boy, smart and very secretive but really has a softer side to him, especially when it comes to Lexi. I really enjoyed any scenes with his partner Ian, and also Tripp’s sister added for some humor moments in the story. His relationship with his so-called “girlfriend” is pretty all over the place and I just don’t see what attracted him to her in the first place. But in added some fun tension between Lexi and Tripp whenever she was brought up.

There was a lot of action and twist to this story that keeps you guessing, every page held my attention. The romance is passionate, sweet and even daring, there was one scene where I was blushing like a little girl. But I loved their chemistry and determination to take a chance at something that was supposed to never be.

Overall I sincerely enjoyed Hide & Seek, full of adventure, romance and mythology that will captivate you into this unique love story. Romance readers will devour this book and I highly recommend it.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult romance novel with sexual content meant for adult +18. Fans of authors Gena Showalter and Lynn Veihl will love Hide & Seek by Aimee Laine.

Hide & Seek is a paranormal romance with a refreshing twist: no vampires, no werewolves, no angels and demons here. Rather, the story revolves around an age-old myth:

Lexi Shepherd and Tripp Fox (the cleverness of their surnames will become apparent in reading the book) first meet on the beach late at night, and sparks begin to fly instantly. It is clear they are made for each other from the start, but the gods (namely Zeus) have not made their union an easy one. To stay together, they must first out-wit the Greek King of the Gods Himself. In their adventures, they find out that everything--their gifts, their jobs, their assignments--all have been placed there for a reason, one which comes together well towards the middle of the book. Yes, I said 'middle.' Once they figured out what they had to do, I don't get why they didn't start shopping for a solution straight away. There was too much dallying and hemming and hawing (especially from Lexi's part, which frustrated the hell out of me). It felt to me as if Tripp was putting in all the effort, and all Lexi was doing was countering it all by being a pessimistic polly. Certainly didn't endear me to her character.

Having said that, the ending was the sweetest and most romantic I've read in a while. I saw it coming after a bit, but it still all played out in my head like the climax of a romantic movie, and it brought an "aah" to my lips. Which is saying a lot, considering I'm not a fan of romantic films!

Tripp is the quintessential hot, charming bad boy every woman dreams of taming. Lexi, on the other hand, is straight-laced and by-the-book, to the point of being a bit of a prude. While Lexi sadly doesn't do it for me as a character (especially when she goes all "woe is me!", when all along it's her stubbornness that's caused it), I can see why Ms. Laine cast her in that way: Lexi is the yin to Tripp's yang, the order to his chaos. And when brought together, they complete each other.

I enjoyed the supporting cast: Lexi's complete opposite of a twin sister, Tripp's comic relief buddy and work partner, the curious and eccentric old couple, the Fergs... But my favourite supporting cast by far, is Dulces. Sure, it's a fictional restaurant, not a character, but just reading about those gorgeous dishes makes my stomach rumble...

All in all, Hide & Seek started on a high, dragged a bit in the middle, but the sweet ending more made up for it. A treat for any fan of romance.

I am going to try and convey how much I liked this book. I'm not sure that it's possible though because it was soooo good.

To start with, it was a completely different PNR concept. There were no werewolves, vampires, faeries, witches etc. The hero and heroine were completely human and mostly normal. Normal in this case, was anything but boring. I love a good werewolf book more than the average person but it's nice to to have a change of pace every once in awhile. This was definitely a great option for something different.

The main characters are Lexi Shepherd and Tripp Fox. They are two people drawn into an age old game of cat and mouse. The are like yin and yang and were never supposed to meet, or were they? From the first moment they are drawn to each other. They have a million obstacles to overcome including themselves if they decide that they want to be together. The characters were very believable and charismatic. It was easy to root them on.

Hide & Seek is an unpredictable adventure. There are many twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. The romance was sweet too.
Tripp Fox was very charming. This book really did have it all, a great cast of characters, a new twist on PNR, and a wonderful plot full of mystery, action, and romance. What more could you possibly ask for?

I enjoyed it immensely. I had a hard time putting it down. There was not a boring moment the book! I can not wait to see what Aimee Laine has in store for us next.

I recommend it to everyone who likes romance but is looking for something a little less predictable or those who are looking for a new type of PNR. Either way you'll be glad you tried it!

I won a copy from J Taylor Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Apparently, Zeus still like to play with humans. He does it with Lexi and Tripp, the protagonists of this book, giving him two special talents: she can find everything you look for, he can steal anything without ever being caught.

In their theory, is a report that looks very complex, not only for the paradox of their gifts but also because people are totally different way of thinking and living.

Lexi with her sister owns a real estate and find the ideal home for its customers, using in a legal and harmless to his ability, not so for Tripp, who with her partner Ian recovers (stealing) of all items on commission types sometimes in dangerous and mostly unwarranted.

A precious and mysterious pendant, will be the leitmotif of the whole story and why the two characters will meet ... and will immediately love. They understand that despite their attraction is strong, should also address and solve many problems: the first trust, earned and date.

If we add to the romance harassing ex-girlfriend, an angry father, of the stolen paintings and an old book, here is a reading that ottenniamo brilliant, original and fun and if this were not enough, the author also adds a touch of romance that makes your eyes sparkle and see everything pink.

This story I loved it because the plot is well structured, the characters believable, the dialogue smart, mythology is the pretext and as the magic and mystery, implies throughout the book without ever being too obvious: after all, are the actions and feelings the protagonists of the story to surprise and move and make ... sometimes the real miracles.
