Wonderfully written and hilariously funny! Anna is at it again. Felty and Anna make every huckleberry hill book hilarious. Jennifer Beckstrand brings the book to life with their characters. I know I cannot be the only one who feels like Anna and Felty are their grandparents. In this book Felty talks to the twins about God so they can patch the hole between them. Thank you to Kensington Books for the ARC copy. I was not required to leave a positive review but definitely felt it was warranted.

What a disappointment! Measuring my enjoyment, I'd probably give it a 2-star rating, but that's largely because it is so flat and empty compared to the excellent titles that preceded it in this series. On its own, if it were a standalone, it would likely deserve 3 stars. It's pretty okay. Not really fun or enjoyable, but certainly okay. There isn't much heart here. The characters don't really seem to come into focus, and I didn't feel much of a connection to any of them. They don't really DO much, but they sure talk a lot.

There are twin sisters here, one who is annoying and selfish, and one who is long-suffering. And what's the result? At the end of the novel, the long-suffering sister who has endured all manner of ill treatment with patience and kindness, learns that she is really the horrible one for enabling her mean sister's selfish whims. And the mean sister? She becomes kinder . . . I guess. This could have been a story of redemption—and to be fair, I think it's trying to be—but it just lacks something.

Anna and Felty are back in this latest installment, and their antics as they move from one short-lived hobby to the next make for some of the most interesting segments in this novel. It's too bad the lead characters were so flat by comparison. The first book in the series has a similar premise: a nice sister and a mean sister who are attracted to the same young man. The structural similarities to this most recent installment in the series only serve to highlight this newest book's many flaws.

To be fair, Jennifer Beckstrand has been writing this series for a while, and some of the later books have been taking a new direction. One book featured a married-but-separated couple rediscovering their feelings for each other, and another one was a prequel, and yet another was about the love and compassion felt between a stepmother and stepson. So maybe that's the case here: the author is perhaps taking a new approach and coming at a traditional romance (love triangle?) from a new and innovative angle. I respect her for trying something different. I feel it could have been stronger, but again, Beckstrand is competing against herself, against the high quality of the earlier books in the series.

Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill is a 5 out of 5 star read that I highly recommend to all readers of chaste romance, especially Christian romance.

This book was a tad frustrating for me. Omi (short for Naomi) and Ruth are identical twin sisters. To make a long story short, I'll start with this - Ruth is a selfish, entitled young lady who thinks she is in love with Nebo (Bo for short). Omi has been in love with Bo since fifth grade but hasn't told anyone about it. Omi is a bit on the judgemental side and is generally perfect.
One night Ruth asks Omi to switch places with her and to let Bo Take Omi home and to allow him to think it was Ruth. Ruth just wanted to go and have some fun with a boy who had a car. Bo isn't fooled, and things escalate from there.

What irked me is that Ruth and Omi's parents can't see that things aren't right with the sisters. The other thing that irked me is that Ruth would have been called the "B" word if this hadn't been a religion-based book. Then again, we might also say that Omi has a bit of a stick up her back-side.

But don't despair; things do work out for the best all around with a little help from Fenty and Anna, Bo's grandparents.

Another winning novel for the Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill!

The queen matchmaker Anna and her husband Felty desire for their grandchildren to find love with the right Amish girl. They have their own love story and wisdom to share. It is their grandson Bo whom they have their sight on. He is currently dating Ruth but Anna's toe is a twitching which means something is not right. It is Ruth's twin sister Omi that is better suited for their grandson. However, there are obstacles. The obstacles are very humorous at times but also they have teaching moments about the human heart. In this case between the sisters. One sister is fun loving and other one wants to make sure she does everything right. One sister feels judged and the other feels justified. I think the discovery of what they were doing to each other and their expectations made a way for them to see the love of God and find true love for themselves.

When Ruth asks her sister Omi to switch places with her on her date with Bo, the tension and miscommunication starts. It is a fun light hearted story that I enjoyed.

A sweet Amish rom-com full of faith, humor, and romance!

An engaging novel, with a full cast of characters. Omi is a likable protagonist, I like how she is always thinking of others, even when they don't think about her. I liked that Beau was willing to stand up for what he wanted, and how he was supportive of Omi. Mammi and Dawdi were super helpful, and I laughed at Mammi's antics and strong belief in the power of raisins.

A quick read, with great interaction, faith, and growth. Though I didn't care much at all for Ruth, who crossed the line with her manipulative antics more than once.

Overall, an enjoyable read with great characters, great themes of love, family, and forgiveness. Another delightful addition to the Huckleberry Hill series!

Even though Ruth was made out to be the 'baddie' of the story, I actually didn't like either her OR Omi very much throughout the majority of the book. While Ruth's selfishness and manipulation was very in-your-face, Omi's own judgementalness and woe-is-me attitude was equally as annoying.
Leave it to Felty and Anna to have a pretty much literal 'come-to-Jesus' meeting with the twins who finally got over themselves so they could be best friends again and end up with the person that was right for each of them.
Speaking of Anna and Felty, the shenanigans of the Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill were pretty much spot-on for what I've come to expect of them. 'It wonders me' if this series will continue on for a while yet.

I read these for the 80+ year old great/grandparents and their antics. Anna & Felty did not disappoint in this twelfth installment. Wasn't a huge fan of Ruth, one of the twins, but again I read for the matchmakers not those that they are matching LOL

My thoughts: 📱35% 3:07:13 Ch. 9 - I'm not feeling this one as much as the previous few books. I'm not fond of the way the last one ended. I don't like sibling triangles.
📱54% 4:49:36 Ch. 13 - I wanted to take a break, but each chapter ended on an exciting note. Now, I'm only stopping to sleep. I don't know what reverse Taming of the Shrew trope this is, but it's fun.

This ended better than it started. I can hardly wait until the next one, but I will. I'm mostly excited that there will be another one. I first read 3 of these books in June. I ordered this one, thinking I would read the rest of the series by the time it came out. I forgot about it, and when I was notified of its upcoming release, I thought it was for another series. Once I realized it was booked 12 in this series, I had to read 8 books (4-11) to catch up, and I'm glad I did. I'll be reading the rest of the Beckstrand catalog while I wait. I did roll my eyes at the Amish singing gospel songs that were written after migration, even in from the 70s, but if they are going to be watching TV and driving cars, why not?

Recommend to others: Yes! This is a great series; it's humorous and meaningful, although it's very contemporary.

An emotional and heartwarming story

I loved Omi and Bo’s heartwarming, sweet and funny Amish romance. The story will give you all the swoony swoons while also pulling at your heartstrings with all the emotions. This one had me feeling all the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering. Both Omi and Bo (and Ruth) are portrayed as real, relatable people who have flaws and make mistakes, but are really trying to just do their best as messy fallible humans. Omi is an identical twin. She is the kind, quiet and faithful twin while Ruth is the vivacious, impulsive and self-centered twin. Bo is a local man who grew up with Omi and Ruth. Omi has loved him for years but now that he is dating Ruth, she has tried to put her feelings aside. Everything changes and gets messy and painful when Omi reluctantly agrees to pretend she’s Ruth for a buggy ride home and Bo kisses her. It will take faith, divine guidance, kindness, honesty, and matchmaking grandparents to get Bo and Omi to their HEA while honoring and protecting Omi’s relationship with Ruth. The secondary characters, as always with this author’s stories, have dimension and are integral to the storyline which just adds further dimension to the story as a whole. Anna and Felty, Bo’s grandparents, are a hoot. They continue to be my favorite secondary characters in this series. Their love for each other and their efforts to “help” their grandchildren are portrayed with such depth I feel like I know them and since they’re recurring characters they feel like old friends. I especially love that even characters that could be judged as less than, like Ruth, have a redemption arc. The character gets to grow but so does the reader. This was a beautiful story of choice, kindness, grace, forgiveness, and love all within the beautiful backdrop of the Amish community’s faith and lifestyle. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline as told through sweet moments, laughs, supportive friends and family, missteps, faith, and heart squeezing love.

This was a new author to me and to me the story started a little slow, which made the book was easy to put down, but by the 4th chapter of the book it turns into one of those page-turners that you can’t put down until you finish reading. I will definitely be checking out the rest of this series and any other book by this author. The editing in this book was spot on, which make a book more enjoyable, the over all flow of the story was hit and miss as I said it took me a few days to read the book cause it was so easy to read a chapter and put it down until I got to the 4th where the story to me came alive and I sat and read and finished it early the following morning without stopping.

Ms Beckstrand wrote another outstanding installment to this wonderful series; drawing me into the story, making me feel as if I’m part of the story rather than a spectator. This was a beautiful story of choice, kindness, grace, forgiveness, and love all within the beautiful backdrop of the Amish community’s faith and lifestyle. The emotions, issues, and challenges the characters face are not just those of the Amish, but could affect people worldwide. With characters who grow, and an engaging story told through sweet moments, laughs, supportive friends and family, missteps, faith, and heart squeezing love, I highly recommend Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill to other readers.

MY REVIEW
Eek! Such a swoony read! I loved that Omi, Bo and Ruth are shown as realistic, relatable people who have flaws and make mistakes, but are trying to do their best as messy fallible humans.

A beautiful story of faith, kindness, honesty, forgiveness, and love, all within the beautiful backdrop of an Amish community.

This story is well written, easily finished in an hour, and just makes you feel all happy and gooey inside.

Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill by Jennifer Beckstrand is the twelfth book in The Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill series. While Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill can be read on its own, I do recommend reading every delightful book in the series. The story is well-written with developed characters. The dialogue is realistic and entertaining. I just love Anna and Felty Helmuth. They are quite a pair. I enjoyed Anna’s latest antics. Anna is a good matchmaker (Anna and Felty have a string of successes). I love that Anna uses her knitted and crocheted items to help with the matchmaking (she especially believes that brightly colored potholders are helpful). I laughed often while reading Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill. I like the talk that Felty had with Omi and Ruth about faith and God. I will admit that I was not a fan of Ruth. Her attitude and behavior, though, were necessary for the story. We get to see the characters grow in character and in faith. Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill is a story about forgiveness, family, choices, love, grace, and faith. I am glad that Anna and Felty have plenty of grandchildren to “help” find a match. I would not want to eat Anna’s food (I shudder at the thought), but I would love to be included among Anna and Felty’s family. Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill is a heartwarming Amish tale with a flirty twin, a silent sister, a switch gone amiss, a plethora of potholders, gregarious grandparents, merry matchmaking, and a hopeful future.

Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill is another great story by Jennifer Beckstrand. Anna and Felty are famous for their matchmaking skills, and this time the recipient is their grandson, Bo. Bo is dating Ruth although he has no idea that her twin sister, Omi, has had a crush on him since grade school. The story starts with Ruth convincing Omi to switch places with her for a buggy ride home with Bo, and that is when the problems begin. Thankfully, Anna and Felty are great at romantic problem-solving.

Jennifer Beckstrand is one of my all-time favorite authors. It completely amazes me how she can come up with such new and interesting stories with every book. The characters in this story are very real with real problems and issues, and that makes them even more relatable. Anna and Felty are a true delight, and I never get tired of reading about them and their hilarious antics.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian fiction or Amish stories. This book is great as a standalone story, but if you haven’t read the previous books in the series, you definitely should.

Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill is book #12 and the last -- so far -- in Jennifer Beckstrand's fun Huckleberry Hill series. And the story may include the most creative collection yet of Anna's antics as she works to make just the right love connections for her grandchildren and their young friends.

You never know when you turn the page what new activity you will find Anna and Felty involved in as they go about their mission. There is sitting yoga, painting, astronomy (or is it astrology), and archery, to name a few. And what could be more fun than a "popsicle sticking" party? Will Anna's special potholders play a significant role in this instance of matchmaking? (If none of this makes much sense to you, you probably have not read other books in this entertaining series.)

I highly recommend Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hill to any fan of delightful Amish stories. In fact, if you haven't read the previous books, I would suggest you give them all a try. I'm not sure what Huckleberry Hill stories we have yet to look forward to, but the author has hinted on social media that we may not have seen the last of Anna and Felty. I, for one, certainly hope that is true!

Happily Ever After on Huckleberry Hilll is Jennifer Beckstrand's 12th book in the Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill series. This story is about identical twins Obi and Ruth Coblenz and Bo Helmuth. Obi is always trying to please everyone, especially her sister, Ruth. Ruth is a vivacious, fun-loving, selfish person who takes advantage of others, especially Omi. When Ruth starts dating, Bo and claims she's in love with him and is going to marry him, Omi's heart sinks, as she's secretly been very interested in him ever since fifth grade. Will the Huckleberry Matchmakers be able to make everyone happy?

I found this to be a delightful and entertaining story. If you've read previous ones in the series, you won't want to miss this latest one! Forgiveness and love are two central themes of this Amish novel.

Join us back on Huckleberry Hill! I love Anna and Felty. Anna feels that she must play matchmaker for her children and grandchildren. She is such a fun character. Felty supports her no matter what. Naomi and Ruth Coblenz are identical twins with very different personalities. Naomi is kind and just wants to help everyone. She doesn't want to hurt anyone especially her over spoiled and out of control sister, Ruth. Naomi has loved Bo Helmuth since the fifth grade. Only one problem, he has started courting Ruth. Things start to go downhill when Ruth bullies Naomi to ride home with Bo so she can go riding with another boy. Bo isn't fooled and carries the "ride" a little too far. Will he find himself falling for the other sister? With the help of Anna and Felty, Bo must find out if his feelings are real for Naomi or is he a fool for Ruth? I received a copy through Netgalley. A delightful romantic triangle

I was intrigued to see Ms. Beckstrand tackling not one but two eligible bachelorettes in this tale of twin sisters and happy to find out the focus was on the more reserved sister (don't worry, the author's talent of tackling the tough issues includes both). Even so, twins is always a good promise for a story and it certainly made for a good one.

Ruth and Omi are identical. Bo loves Ruth, Ruth dates Bo. Oh, and Omi also loves Bo. Shenanigans toss Omi and Bo together, and now Ruth is the problem.

If you like rom coms, it's a great recipe and the story does exceedingly well with it. It's a funny, thoughtful love triangle with some real lessons and wisdom beneath it all. The characters are fun, the plot tight, and as nice a journey back to Huckleberry Hill as one could want.

I have read all the books in this series and always look forward to the next, I love Annie and Felty!
This is their grandson Bo's story, but we are reunited with past characters, and given some updates!
Bo is dating Ruth, one of the twins, she is the extrovert, whereas her sister Naomi is much more shy.
There are other differences between the twins, and you soon will be aware of most of them. They do have a lot in common, including like Bo.
There are a lot of life lessons here, and we do journey along to see whom will end up with Bo, but most of all we get to spend time with the Helmuth grandparents!
Now I can't wait for the next grandchild match!

A visit to Huckleberry Hill is always a highlight of the year for me. I've never read one I didn't love, but this one was particularly good! I really liked that it was not a cookie-cutter plot. I found the storyline unique and very enjoyable!

Felty and Anna have long been all-time favorite characters for me, but if it's possible, I like them even more after this book. They have always been so funny and quirky, but this book really highlighted their spiritual depth. Felty especially shone in this book, and I just love him. I hope Mrs. Beckstrand keeps writing about them forever! I'm so glad they have hundreds of grandchildren that still need to be matched! I'll be there for every one of them!

Again, Ms. Beckstrand has used her wonderful use of words to tell an entertaining story that moves smoothly and with great enjoyment throughout the entire story. It is delightful and entertaining.

All characters are well developed and are very believable.

The book could be read as a standalone, but so much more enjoyable if you are familiar with the series.

This series. I’ve loved every single book and I do reread them. Funny, sweet, kind, grouchy…it’s all here! Of course Anna and Felty make each story what it is. If they don’t have you laughing they’ll have you teary eyed.

Twins Naomi and Ruth are such opposites. One is so sweet and the other is so selfish. And poor Bo is stuck in the middle. I laughed my way through the predicaments they find themselves in with help from Anna and Felty, who also make me laugh.

If you enjoy heartwarming humor in an Amish setting then do read the entire Huckleberry Hill series.

Huckleberry Hill book 12

Another great story but Jennifer Beckstrand. If you haven’t read the other Huckleberry Hill books you should! Anna and Felty Helmouth are an adorable older couple that play matchmaker to their great Grandchildren. Sweet and funny. This story is about twins Ruth and Omi who love the same boy Bo Helmuth. Omi has loved Bo forever but the boys love her twin, Ruth better. So Ruth started dating Bo but he follows the rules and Ruth needs fun and excitement. With Omi’s disgruntled help, Omi pretends she is Ruth so Ruth can go riding in a car. Let the story begin..

Here comes another fun story that involves the matchmakers, Anna and Felty again. This time there are twins involved and they fall in love with the same man. Will the matchmakers be able to set the situation straight or will it be trouble for everyone? Jennifer Beckstrand writes some of the most fun, fall in love with the characters books and I always enjoy seeing where she is going to take us next.

Whether you’re invested in the huckleberry hill antics or not this is another wonderful book by Jennifer Beckstrand. It can be read alone or as the next books in the series. With so many grandchildren Anna Helmuth is never without some one to match up, her favorite hobby. This book follows Bo and Anna’s quest to marry him off to the right girl. With her husband Felty and some godly wisdom happy ending are bound to happen.

This book is hysterical. I just love Amish fiction, but it is normally wholesome, but not full of much humor. I found this one to be extremely bentertaning a humorous.

The characters Felty and Anna made this book one of the most enjoyable Amish books I have ever read. I look forward to reading more of Jennifer Beckstrand's books.

Honestly I wasn't expecting to love it. Don't get me wrong I love Jennifer Beckstrand's books but I have been losing interest in her Huckleberry Hill books, sorry :(

This one brought me back into the fold, it was funny, engaging, annoying at times in both good and bad ways but overall a great book. A great storyline, the flow was good. Not too many characters but a few more could have been fleshed out a little more.

A delight that was very needed.

My thoughts: HAPPILY EVER AFTER ON HUCKLEBERRY HILL is a sweet romance that will grab your intererest from the beginning and not let go. I liked Bo and Omi but not Ruth. There were plenty of funny laugh out loud moments in the book ... I loved all the crafts the grandparents tried. Great fun. If you like Amish romance and humor you will love this book. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.
