Dr. Daniel Sawyers was undeniably drawn to the very woman he most disapproved of. But Lace McGee, a supposed expert on matters of love-physical love, that is-had shown him nothing but steely resistance. So Daniel asked the brazen beauty for lessons in the bedroom. Her bedroom. So what if he was already masterful at pleasing women-he'd fake it! For Daniel had to satisfy his overpowering desire to touch Lace, to glimpse the depths of her soul, to know if uncertainty filled her gaze only to keep him at bay...or to protect a secret innocence.

Lori Foster usually gets 3 stars from me. I find I can't go wrong with a Lori Foster Story but that doesn't mean that I don't easily put them down. This story got a little higher rating and it was because of Lace. I really liked her. I didn't love the fact that she was a virgin - I felt like that was a bit ridiculous. Not that there is anything wrong with virginity, it is a fairly constant characteristic in romances with innocent characters. I just didn't buy it with her being a sex-pert. Seriously. I would have rather she had low numbers than no numbers.
But other than that, I like her attitude. How she pushes Dan and his stereo-types, but I also liked how she works through her attraction to him.
The book is early Lori Foster, so it was a bit disjointed in how the story built. But I forgave her for that. We all have to start somewhere.
This book ends up being part of a series (Dan, Max and Annie all have books) and I have read them all. If you haven't read this series yet and you need a beach read, you should grab the book that has all 3 stories together!!
This one is just so.... lame. Too much pretending of virginity and non-virginity and expertise and sexpertise. Sex can be great and a bit weird and yes the first time with someone can make you hesitant. But if you should go through all this drama, I don't think you belong together. And then it gets worse!!
The whole virgin plotline, I only have patience for it when it's done well. That's not the case here.
This is the first book in the Sawyer Family Trilogy and it's off to a good start. The book is a quick, easy read but holds your attention. The characters are not only likable they are believable as well, it's well written with an interesting plot. That sexual tension between the H/H is so strong and quirky that you can't help pull for these two. I also like that there is little to no angst and no cliff hangers and it contains a HEA.
Lace McGee is a sex therapist. Dr. Daniel Sawyer is a doctor who works in ER at a hospital. Daniel does not approve of Lace he thinks she is a hedonist and a bad influence on his baby sister which is a misconception. She walks in ER with a huge dog bite on her rear end. Daniel decides no one will treat her but him. He even stays a couple days helping her in her apartment. Their bickering is amusing and there is strong chemistry between these two.
I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this book. I did enjoy the characters but the book left me wanting more. this book is definitely a straight romance book. no real plot twists or drama. just 2 people trying hard to hook up and start a relationship.
Tre stelle scarse.
Wanted to give it 2 star but gave 1 more just for the feels and both H and h. I just felt ending could have been with more feel and better love confessions. Still a good read.
We all have our different views on relationships. Sometimes we don't know or see that our fear or wants come from our up bringing what we saw our parents, grandparents and other family members went through.
Lori Foster allows readers to overcome the barriers placed before us that we believe love should look like revealing love can happen no matter what.
