I WANT TO READ THIS BOOK BUT THEY WONT LET ME READ IT BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO DO A PROJECT FOR HALLOWEEN BECAUSE MY TEACHER SAID ON A SHEET OF PAPPER IHAT I HAVE TO DRESS AS ONE OF THE MAIN CHRACTER IN MY BOOK BECAUSE I AM HELLOKITTY FOR HALLOWEEN AND I AM HAVING A PARTY AT SCHOOL
I loved this book as a kid and was surprised when I went looking for it and found my local library still had the copy I read when I was little! Reading this book again now as an almost adult was a lovely trip down memory lane! I was a bit surprised that after almost 10 years since I had read it I still remembered most of the haikus. They may not be the most amazing haikus ever but they are cute and the pictures are adorable! I only wish it was still in print so I could get my own copy!
2020 update The haikus are still very basic but the nostalgias to strong for me to give anyone but 5 stars
If you have a little girl age 18 months to five who is in love with everything Hello Kitty this is a book for you! Every page has a charming haiku poem on it. Illustrations are witty and gorgeous. Maybe the haiku in this book will not take any poetry prizes, but they are perfect for my toddler who loves the book!
How does she do it? No matter where H.K. goes, she looks remarkly calm and put together. And now she writes haiku! But I am fearful that her omnipotence comes at the cost of more worldwide appearances by Chococat.
Enjoyably surreal. I kept imagining a pro photographer bending over tiny plush Hello Kitties in various public places, and what passers-by reactions might be.
Veg*n parents note: At one point, HK dresses as a "circus elephant."
My 3rd grade students read and wrote haikus for National Poetry Month. I know they will love reading the Hello Kitty haikus - they are very entertaining and the pictures are adorable and hilarious at the same time.
Artful photography and lively haikus make this book come alive. Of course, Hello Kitty fans will love it but it also serves as a great way to introduce haiku to children.
This is a cute book of photographs and haikus. Each of the photographs are brightly coloured pictures of a stuffed animal Hello Kitty and on one side of the page there is a haiku about the photo.
