Siegal outlines a noninvasive, 28-day program designed to help identify thyroid malfunction. The program consists of eating a healthy percentage of protein, carbohydrates and fat over a 28-day period while taking weight and temperature measurements. Once diagnosed, he provides recommended medication and a special eating plan.
I like the concept of this book and scream out YES! at the title. The book did help convince me of my decision to try a switch to natural thyroid. But beyond that I can't get behind his "diet". It is all artificial food, sweetener, frozen meals, and stuff that I've worked so hard to remove from my diet that it would be insane to go backwards and add it all back in. That said - if you did eat that badly then it would be a good place to start.
