This was a perfect ending to a series. Wedding Games felt like the ultimate reunion episode to your favorite sitcom, where all the characters you came to love rejoin for the very last time. And, wow! Was this get together a big fun ride!
Rory and Zoe’s wedding (and the days leading to the Big Event) was full of shenanigans, Scosecco, and fooleries. There was a rivalry amongst mothers that got completely out of control, a hen do that ended where it shouldn’t, (step)fathers starting a bromance into the wild, innuendos all over the place - but all in the best of bestest way. It was so good to see Rory and Zoe, Fiona and Duncan, Valentina and Charlie, and Sam and Jamie together! I loved it!
Wedding Games is a novella, the last in the Kinloch series and while it could be read as a standalone, it makes more sense to read this finale after reading the full length predecessors. And while it’s a novella, it contains all the ingredients of a perfect romantic comedy: a LOT of humor, hiccups on the road to the Happy Ever After, some more humor, a grand gesture, and I was surprised (but I shouldn’t have been) that there were even spicy steamy scenes in between. Also, at the wedding we got a glimpse of Lord Henry Foxbrooke, a shy guy that is going to be the main character in Evie Alexander’s upcoming The Foxbrooke Series. I can’t wait to find out his story!
