Use as a secondary reference, not as an introduction to the language. This text emphasizes morphological changes.

If you are teaching yourself with this book, I hope you have other aids along the way! If it hadn't been for my brilliant Hebrew professor, I don't think I would've found this book to be at all accessible. Not to mention in some chapters toward the end there are some not-so-trivial errors. Definitely a good side resource, but I wouldn't make it my primary.

This was my favorite introduction to Biblical Hebrew until Webster's Cambridge Introduction to Biblical Hebrew came out.

Counting this as something I read because I spent a LOT of time studying with this. super helpful! My professor that used this book was actually a student of Dr. Ross and she was right about how brilliant he is! I love all the tools he includes in the appendices. The exercises and translations were helpful too. Pro tip: if you have the answer key, working backwards was also really helpful in the English to Hebrew stuff. Overall, this made studying Hebrew easier. I like how the verbs and such were structured! Then it gets into Scripture which is soooo fun!

This is a very thorough introductory Biblical Hebrew grammar, but I would not recommend it at all to someone trying to teach themselves.

Between Weingreen, Kelley, Fuller, and Seow, this is so far (only to chapter 5) the easiest Hebrew grammar I have perused.
