A collection of rather uneven synopses of most of Shakespeare's plays along with artwork. Some essays are rather insightful; others simply lay out the bare bones of the plot.
Truthfully, I would have preferred (and had hoped) for more art, less verbiage. Or at least more art if not fewer words.
While we were driving through the English countryside, Anita Towner, our tour director, passed this book around the bus. I was immediately enthralled with the illustrations, text, and the fun guessing games that Anita copied and passed around for our entertainment. Just got my copy today from half.com.
If I had this book while I was in English when we were reading Shakespeare; I could have love to have the insight this book has. This book has helped me understand what other people still goes though the same social problems then as we do today.
