One summer in Seoul, two best friends, drowning in secrets, caught up in the heat.
Summers at the beachhouse on Kkum island were always just a family affair, until the day that the enigmatic and captivating Park twins arrived and changed everything. Katayi and Sailor have to spend the entirety of the summer together, but everyone knows that things get uglier up close.
But sailor has a secret and Katayi isn't telling the whole truth, but the matter of the fact is that things haven't been the same since that summer. They aren't the same people they used to be, but we're getting ahead of ourselves here, we have to go back to where it began, somewhere off the coast where two worlds collided.
I’m sorry i don’t get the ending. Like why has the author given two endings. one is entirely fictional and sweet the other just gives the message that the whole story ie fake? like bro wtf. i seriously don't get this. the author could have easily ended the book with the first ending because im confused. This book is also advertised that it contains smut. Trust me not a single amount of smut is present. There are only kissing scenes but that is also can be found same in young adult books. One thing I don’t like is false advertising and I think authors should know that. The book was so cute and could have easily been 5 stars but because there were two endings I had to cut off one.
The book is legit 5 stars for me..💫❤️🥺 It was so good, I read it for three days straight, it was a good sweet old school romance written in the future. I connected with the female lead, katayi, on so many levels personally. The male lead, Sailor Haru Park, was portrayed beautifully. The struggles he faced as an idol at such a young age, I felt bad for him.
All in all, the book was good. You guys should give it a try if you have been putting it on your tbr✨️
dnf because this girl is literally so rude. she made him break his vegan habits that he set since 13. she paid a homeless man ¥5000 (which apparently is about $35 USD?) to stop playing music because she hates it so much. well, i hate her.
Dont even want to give it one star. It was boring and the whole "set in future" thing I hated it. How do you know children will still watch harry potter and Narnia in 2048??
Guys, when I say you HAVE to read this book, I mean you NEED TO. Now, I love myself a good enemies-to-lovers, slow burn romance. However, I find that some of my favorite love stories actually start with a friendship. This is exactly the kind of narrative explored in "The Idol Effect."
The novel beautifully captures the development of althr unexpected friendship between Salior, a world famous K-Pop star and Kat, the wealthy daughter of a record producer. Kat and Salior’s friendship began in an unexpected place, born from a chance encounter that neither of them anticipated.
Initially brought together by a shared interest, they found comfort in each other’s company, discovering commonalities that sparked countless conversations and laughter. They grew to understand each other’s hopes and dreams, fears and vulnerabilities, creating a connection that felt both fragile and unbreakable.
it was so cute! Sailor Haru Park and Katayi Satali are soo cute together! absolute darlings had me kicking my feet squealing! Congratulations for making it from writing on wattpad to being in my hands! :)
